ADDING A SOFT BOX TO ARRI 650 FRESNAL

Can anyone help me by giving me their advice on whether they think it is possible to add this soft box to an Arri 650 fresnal. Any suggestions would be fantastic.

to answer your question yes and no. Is the box itself ok to use with a 650. yes. conditionally.

1 it must be mounted correctly.

2. it shouldnt be left on for days at a time.

3 avoid allowing the fabric to touch the light or fall into the light path.

 

will it fit an arri 650, no the speed ring will not fit an arri 650 properly and safely. can you make it fit, probably but refer to mounting it correctly as a safety concern.

 

you could have a speed ring made for it. but after the cost of milling and fabrication it would cost more than a Photoflex/ Chimera.

 

Save money and spend some on the real gear. Stop buying Chinese because its cheaper. It Costs more in the long run in more than one way.

You get what you pay for, when the cheaper, imported soft-box stitching falls apart, who is going to honor the warranty? When buyinbg equipment, buy the best you can afford, since you're buying it for more than one use. Cheap lights, grip and accessories are just plain frustrating to use and often impossible to repair.
