Premium Member Keith Walters Posted June 14, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted June 14, 2010 (edited) Just in case anybody is still interested  Jim's last post on Reduser was on 10 May. After that there was a post put up by Jarred Land or somesuch saying Jim had to take a month off for medical reasons or something. The thread was just titled "Jim" but ironically the Reduser search engine won't accept words shorter than 3 letters, so "Jim" (or "Red"!) are not searchable! Anyway I was now just sent this screen grab from Cinematography.net (I used to have a Cinematography.net account but I've forgotten the password and I've also forgotten the password of the email account they send the password to, so I can't get in there to check it out myself! But it seems on the level). So he's posting there but not his "family" forum. What does it all mean? Edited June 14, 2010 by Keith Walters

Premium Member Keith Walters Posted June 14, 2010 Author Premium Member Share Posted June 14, 2010 It only means that you seem to care a lot about him :) Well, somebody's got to do it. Actually I've always thought that would be a great plot for a movie. There would be some sort of guardian angel who absolutely HATES the person he's been sent to watch over, and uses all sorts of un-angel like language and so on, and just wishes it would all end so he could get back to his idea of heaven which basically consists of boozing, fishing and strip clubs. Aaah! Probably already been done.
Karel Bata
I like it! But err.. "Dynamic range is defined as signal/noise" I don't see it. Still. we're lacking a context here. Any guesses?
Premium Member Keith Walters Posted June 15, 2010 Author Premium Member Share Posted June 15, 2010 Hello, he's back! His Scarlet manufacturer of choice is apparently no longer a choice and Epic's got serious bugs. Jim's apparently OK though. I keep telling him, it's a combination of cheap electrolytics and not enough groundplane copper. The cameras? No, I don't know anything about those  The man needs a hobby.... Premium Member Alessandro Machi Posted November 2, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted November 2, 2010 I like it! But err.. "Dynamic range is defined as signal/noise" I don't see it. Still. we're lacking a context here. Any guesses? I found that cut off comment intriguing as well. If the camera simply crushes the near zero black portions of the signal, they could claim excellent signal to noise range, but only in a kodachrome sort of way.
