Neel Potgieter
Hi folks, Please have a look at Bruno Aveillan's Shangri La "Wolves" commercial. Also look at this: I am wondering how the DP got that parts-of-the-scene-out-of-focus-and-refracting/reflecting look, while keeping the important subject matter in focus. Also, the constant glares and flares. I would love to re-create this look and am wondering if this was done in camera or in post....???? Also, looking at his still photography slideshow, it looks like it could have been a "bad lens"??? Any guesses? Neel Potgieter Paris

Chris Millar
search for 'louis vuitton' here at the forums - the technique seems to have appended itself to the brand () - accordingly any discussion re. this look can be found by searching for that string
Premium Member Hal Smith Posted January 10, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted January 10, 2011 One of the "old school" methods for messing with an image is Vaseline smeared on a clear filter on the lens. If you Google "vaseline on a lens" you'll get hits with examples.
