glenn j hanns Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Hi all, Does anyone have a LUT for the F3 S-log option to use with the Blackmagic HDLink for monitoring Rec 709. Thanks in advance. Glenn Hanns DOP, Sydney. Australia
Christian Janss Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 I was just at Abel Cine today and they said that they've requested a LUT from Sony but the company refuses to release one. Abel is working on one of their own currently.
Martin Hong Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 On their website they state the following: LUT Support Without the correct processing, Sony's S-LOG Gamma appears "flat," missing deep blacks or piercing highlights. While many DPs are accustomed to looking at such LOG encoded images, many producers and clients are not. For this reason, Sony Look-up-Tables (LUTs) convert S-LOG Gamma to conventional Rec. 709 video for real-time monitoring on the set and for offline recording onto SxS memory cards. When you add the CBK-RGB01 RGB and S-LOG output option (expected availability Fall 2011), you get four viewing LUTs. Maybe you should try again
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted December 4, 2011 Premium Member Posted December 4, 2011 they've requested a LUT from Sony but the company refuses to release one What the &@#^ sort of attitude is that? I get the impression that someone at Sony doesn't understand how this has to work.
