Kodak 500t

Does anyone here know anything good or bad about this stock?

I have this stock thats been in the freezer for 7 years.

I can't find any history on this 500T.

 

Got this years ago for my Eclair NPR.

 

 

On the silver kodak can reads:

 

KODAK 500T

 

SO-579

 

16 2R 7620 (3000) El C

 

0579 004 1102

Does anyone here know anything good or bad about this stock?

 

Forgive me if my information is not 100% correct, I'm copying from some notes I've found in my "film drawer" :-)

I've never used SO-579, but it should refer to a different version of the great 500T 5279/7279, considered by some one of the best 500T stocks ever made, discontinued 5 years ago. However, the "SO-579" indicates the film has an ESTAR base, which, if my notes are correct, is stronger and thinner compared to the acetate base.

and the 3000 in the label indicates that it was intended for a high speed camera.

In my experience with shooting this stock, and older 500t, it will have some fog, in the blue layer mostly, and I would down rate it at least a stop to 250. Shoot it under bright conditions.
