Darn Thorn
Hi All, I have an Angenieux Type R7 Lens (1.8), it looks like it was made in the '70s. I bought in in a kit with a Cinema Products CP-16 Camera, the lens mount is a CP mount. Can this lens be easily converted to C Mount? The CP bayonette mount has 3 screws, which when removed allow the mount and also part of the rear of the lens barrel to be removed. This part looks like part of the adapting system... as the rear lens element is not removed in this process but rather the caseing that surrounds it. Was the mount on this lens designed to be interchangable, and if so is there a rear lens mount adapter out there for this? Thanks in advance, Darn Thorn Convert CP Mount Angenieux R7 Lens to C Mount
Brian Drysdale
You should be able to get an adapter that allows your CP mount lens to fit onto a C mount camera. You could check with Les Bosher (or other lens adapter manufacturer)about getting one. I suspect the lens itself doesn't have an interchangeable system. more you've got an option of which mount you wish to have fitted onto the lens. This isn't intended for quick switches between mounts in the field, but an operation than needs to be done and checked by a lens technician. Darn Thorn
Hi there, thanks for this. I've sent Les an email. I've had no luck finding an adapter anywhere else.
