Guest Stephen Murphy
Something a little different for me. I was asked a few weeks ago to shoot a concert at a very intimate venue for about an audience of 150 people. The brief was to shoot something that was visualy interesting and moody while not interfering with the audiences enjoyment of the performance. The artist was going to play approx 7-8 tracks only once and the client wanted to shoot with multiple cameras to capture each performance so we had to light for both wide and medium shots at the same time. We could have lights and cameras in our frame, but not in the audiences way. The first of those promos has gone online and this time i actually managed to take notes, photos and even a quick video about what i was doing with the lighting design. We shot on 5 or 6 Canon 5DMK2's and 1 RedMx on a jimmyjib. This was a really enjoyable job with a terrific crew, made all the more fun because of the beautiful performance from the band. Guest Stephen Murphy
Stephen what did you use for the smoke ? Hi john - just one small smoke machine that we kept ticking away in the upper mezzanine. Worked quite well!
