EX3 + Green Screen?

I'm hoping to shoot a music video using an EX3 against green screen.

 

I've done a lot of keying with other cameras / footage, so no problems in that department. But are there any special considerations or pitfalls when using this camera model, any special settings that might help me?

Look out for this camera with greenscreen. On my testing shots with it I had to change it on F3 - and it works great.

However, it depends what is your aim: it can't work well on wide shots because of 2/3' and weak optics. I was recording whole figure which is walking few steps parallel to lens - wrong keying. Whole figure (camera in vertical position, to extend an virtual resolution) - good enough.

 

It's also about sharpness of image, which is not well in EX3.

All depends what is your aim: fullHD, 720p? whole figure, only closeup?

I will most likely be shooting medium and closeup shots of a guitarist playing and singing, all from the waist up. I'm curious if there are any settings that would suit the motion of his fingers and strumming, and making sure that doesn't cause any problems with the keying.

You can get record real 10 bit to an external recorder, check out this B-log setting, they may help you. All of this is great for green screen. If you use the cameras internal compression, it isn't so great.
