Paul Bartok
I read somewhere that if you leave vision film in a tub of distilled water and %4 sodium carbonate it can remove the remjet backing after a minute anyone can vouch for this, or know of easy methods would be great? That solution will soften the Rem-Jet but it won't just "Fall Off" nicely and neatly it still has to be brushed off evenly from the film. What usually happens with hand removal is that some of the Rem-jet reattaches itself to the film , often to the emulsion. -Rob-

There is no 'easy' way to remove rem-jet that works perfectly. Wish there was. You will need to soften the rem-jet, then wash the film a few times, then wipe the remainder off by hand, knowing that there will be some on the emulsion side of the film - not much, but some. cheers, richard

A rotary buffer and wash system as found in a motion picture processor, sorry. hand developers of ECN have used various cloths to try to get the Rem-Jet off but it is a process with mixed success. Here is a photo of a backing removal buffer from a treise ECN Processor: -Rob-
