Ckulakov
Dear Filmmakers, I am a student and have a question, will a 812 warming filter really enhance skintones for an interview under 3200 degrees kelvin photofloods or should I use bastard amber gels on the lights? Or could I just use a bastard amber gels and 812 filter to get a even warmer mood? Thanks in advance
Premium Member Michael Nash Posted March 27, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted March 27, 2005 An 812 is a pretty mild warming filter, and it helps saturate skin tones just a little bit without really calling attention to itself. Bastard Amber is close in density, but is slightly more pink. The 812 is essentially the same color as a slight grade of CTO gel. If you combine a camera filter and gels on the lighting, you're just doubling up on the color density.
