Charles Zuzak Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I saw this rather intriguing post on REDUSER.net and I thought someone who posts here more regularly might have heard similar murmurings. http://www.reduser.n...531#post1123531 I've added a screencap for posterity.
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted December 27, 2012 Premium Member Posted December 27, 2012 Seems unlikely Panavision would spend so much money developing a large sensor camera that can't use their huge inventory of lenses. I expect their camera to have a Super-35 sensor.
Charles Zuzak Posted December 28, 2012 Author Posted December 28, 2012 That's what I thought as well. They could go the ARRI route and make a Super35 camera and an anamorphic 35 camera for each of their lines of PV lenses.
Alex Corn Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Heard about this a few days ago: http://nofilmschool.com/2013/01/red-epic-dragon-arri-alexa-sony-f55-f65-panavision-70mm-camera/

I expect their camera to have a Super-35 sensor. The rumor is that there's an option to window down the 70mm (8K?) sensor to 42 and 35mm frame.
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted June 26, 2013 Premium Member Posted June 26, 2013 Yes I heard that it has a 70mm sensor and uses new enlarged Primo lenses. 1
