ShotPut Pro question

Recommended Posts

I might be working a second season for a show and we use ShotPut Pro. I am thinking of things we can improve upon and the idea of generating proxies during back up has come up. Does using the Proxy Mill function within Shot Put significantly slow down the back up? We would be going from c300 footage to Avid 14:1 offline.

I wouldn't recommend usin ShotPut on set for anything other than downloading data - use Resolve for any transcodes, it's industry standard - quick and reliable.

Hi Ryan,

I have ShotPut for downloading and I've been transcoding Epic with Resolve, but never Scarlet. At highest resolution what are the general differences with render time? Curious as I'm on a scarlet shoot soon and would like to transcode on-set if time allows. I have a MacBook Pro 2.5 i7 16GB RAM, running 2 linked G-DRIVE's via eSATA/Thunderbolt adapter.

Thanks.
