KevinP
Hello, I have come across some old film stock that may be slated to be discarded. I wanted to see if there might be any interest in these old emulsions. The film is Technical Pan 2415 in 70mm format. 500 ft spools, still sealed in the original boxes and cans. This is a high-contrast, very low-grain emulsion with extended red sensitivity. The film is old, with an expiration date of 1990. I don't know exactly the storage conditions over the years, but I believe it was treated well, always remaining cool and dry. Another emulsion is Kodak Linagraph Shellburst (2476), which is a high-contrast film with extended red sensitivity. This is in 35 mm format, 250 ft rolls, with an expiration date of 1994. These films are also still sealed in their cans. Here are some pictures of the film boxes/cans -- Tech Pan 2415 Box: https://dl.dropbox.c...an.2415.Box.jpg Tech Pan 2415 Can: https://dl.dropbox.c...an.2415.Can.jpg Linagraph Shellburst Can: https://dl.dropbox.c....Shellburst.jpg Do these old films have any use or value? Richard Tuohy
Hi Kevin, as an experimental filmmaker, I am interested in the Linagraph Shellburst film. I could make something interesting out of that! Are you interested in parting with these? many thanks, richard ps my email is richard@nanolab.com.au
Mark Dunn
Technical Pan is of normal contrast in the right developer. Of course it has no cine application in 70mm., but someone who still has a 70mm. back might want it for stills. Ebay is worth a try, but don't give it away, will you? It'll be fine for years in the freezer if it's OK now, and you could clip test it.
Andries Molenaar
I photograph using a Linhof Technika, I have a 70mm back for it and some cartridges. I have used it before and certainly would be interested in a Technical Pan roll. Please inform us on the decision making :)
