Raster on "Coriolanus" DVD

I saw this movie when it was in the theatres, and thought it might have been shot on super 16mm, because it didn't look like 35, but I figured some of the cutaways or second unit stuff might have been digital.

 

Playing on my computer full screen native at 1440 by 900, you can see some very faint artifacts. I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but would it show up on the DVD and not in the theatre? As it given an interpositive before being transferred to DVD?

Depends what you mean by artifacts - can you post a screenshot?

 

IMDB lists Coriolanus as being 35mm fuji stocks via Penelope and Angeneiux optimos. 2-perf was at least tested for the show, which might explain your observations. I'll drag the DVD out later and see if it looks obviously anamorphic, or maybe you can tell.
