Richard Tuohy
Hi, I'm currently in jakarta helping the folk here at the artist run lab, lab laba lab (spider lab). We have made a lovely optical printer live, and have built a frame by frame telecine. Last time we were here we resurrected a model c printer. Now they want it's sound head to work. One problem is we have no bulb. Could someone help with identifying the type of bulb needed? There is a remote.chance we can find one here, but we need as much info about it a possible. Many thanks Richard
Premium Member Simon Wyss Posted March 25, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted March 25, 2015 What I’ve found: http://www.filmlabs.org/docs/BHmodelD.pdf I guess the original lamps haven’t been made for decades, you’ll have to find your own way. Richard Tuohy
Yep, the model c is much more recent than the model d. the c has a separate sound head. It is the bulb for that head we need
Nicholas Kovats
Richard, Please post your request to the Motion Picture Technology group on Facebook. Diehard analog heads who retain everything including obscure parts. Both you and Carl MUST post your efforts to resurrect the optically dead! Tremendous work. James Compton
Richard, I need to see the socket. Take a a clear picture of the socket, and post it in this thread. That will narrow down the bulb search. What voltage is the printer operating on?
