Scott Pickering
I have 2 of the 1012 cameras and both have the same issue. When ever the grip is in folded position, allowing the tripod mount to be used, the camera will not power on. Only when the grip is down will it work. Is this common with this camera? What is the fix for it if anyone knows? I have a project I want to use the camera with using tripod, but I may have to skip this camera if I can't get it to function. Oron Cohen
This is one of the best super8 cameras ever made to my opinion, I have this camera and never had this issue. Did you set the main switch knob to "T" when the handle is folded? because if you leave the main switch knob on "ON" mode the camera won't roll.... Mark Dunn
Presumably you've referred to the manual: http://www.apecity.com/manuals/pdf/elmo_1012s-xl_macro_manual.pdf Set the main switch to "T" (for tripod) to run it with the grip folded. If not, maybe there's a loose wire in the grip, or the interlock switch which the grip actuates in "T" mode isn't working properly.
