How to get steady footage while Traveling?

What should I use to get stable footage while traveling? I don't want something too big, I want something convenient but useful.

I use a monopod. Fits right onto the side of my backpack and works perfectly.

What kind of shooting do you want to do? I think my Glidecam would fit nicely into a large suit case, but it might be too big to carry around for you?

A small tripod could do the job, but if you want moving shots, not that useful.
