I recently saw that the Canon t1i is selling used on the eBay market for only $150 now. Cheaper than some higher end memory cards.

Is there a less expensive learning tool for cinematography at this point? A digital video capture device that allows you to control ISO/shutter/white balance/frame rate/lenses?

 

If you know of one, please point me in the direction of that so I can show others, because to this day I still recommend the Rebel line as a starting camera for shooters with no money.

There is tons of equipment made for these cameras at an affordable price. They are pretty decent in low light, portable and durable. As a beginner, why go for something else than a t5i, 7d or similar?

 

If there was a better alternative in this bracket you would already know about it.
