David Edward Keen
Newbie's question here. How much does the total output in terms of i guess footcandles/lux decrease if i put a tungsten (3200K) diffusion over the 5600K LED light? It's one of those tungsten diffusion plastic plates goes right over the light. I know that putting a CTB in front of my 3200 K greatly reduces the amount of light goin out. I'm videoing three guys interacting on a street and I'm concerned about keeping them all inside the DOF. If I have enough light I can do a higher F stop but i probably don't, even with the street light over us.
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted December 30, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted December 30, 2016 It's the same as an 85B (orange) or 80A (blue) camera correction filter -- 2/3-stop for full orange (actually closer a 3/4-stop) and 2-stops for full blue. A stop is equal to half or double the light, so you will cut the footcandle output by almost in half with the Full CTO correction.
