Pinkish skin tones

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, a newcomer here. I was wondering how that pinkish tint was achieved. In case of «Deer Hunter», I thought, that might be the effect caused by the mixture of color temperatures as V. Zsigmond tended to use such trick. Or it’s just the way slightly cool light affects the (caucasian) skin tones? Please, see the pictures below. Thank you!

The links don't work.

"Pinkish" sounds a bit like the color-correction done for home video...

"Deer Hunter" used regular Kodak tungsten-balanced stock sometimes in mixed color temperature situations but nothing was done to make skin look "pinker".

Thank you for the prompt reply David!

Jeez, I'm real sorry for the links, they work for me well though.

Yeah, I noticed what I assume you're talking about on "Dancer In the Dark" and some earlier "Dogme 95" films, but it's not really the case.

I'll try to make the links work so you could see them.
