Andrey Verzola
Hey guys, a newcomer here. I was wondering how that pinkish tint was achieved. In case of «Deer Hunter», I thought, that might be the effect caused by the mixture of color temperatures as V. Zsigmond tended to use such trick. Or it’s just the way slightly cool light affects the (caucasian) skin tones? Please, see the pictures below. Thank you! http://evanerichards.com/wp-content/gallery/the-deer-hunter/thedeerhunter332.jpg http://evanerichards.com/wp-content/gallery/americanbeauty_sd/americanbeauty10.jpg http://evanerichards.com/wp-content/gallery/inthemoodforlove/inthemoodforlove083.jpg
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted June 29, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted June 29, 2017 The links don't work. "Pinkish" sounds a bit like the color-correction done for home video... "Deer Hunter" used regular Kodak tungsten-balanced stock sometimes in mixed color temperature situations but nothing was done to make skin look "pinker". Andrey Verzola
Thank you for the prompt reply David! Jeez, I'm real sorry for the links, they work for me well though. Yeah, I noticed what I assume you're talking about on "Dancer In the Dark" and some earlier "Dogme 95" films, but it's not really the case. I'll try to make the links work so you could see them. Andrey Verzola
Well, I didn't figure out how to edit that post so I created one more where links should work. Here is the link http://www.cinematography.com/index.php?showtopic=74835 Edited June 29, 2017 by Andrey Verzola
Brian Drysdale
I',m not sure why you started a new thread, rather than putting the links onto a new message in this one. Creating a new thread on the same subject (double posting) often results in comfusion.
