John Carty
This may sound like a stupid question, but how do you set your speed of film to the Bolex camera? I mean using like a Rex1 or 2. I have use a K3 before and if I am using a 50d film then I just turn the light speed dial on the K3 to match the speed of the film I am using. I dont see anything like that on the Bolex, so how to you adjust the film speed with the camera. Thanks
Premium Member Dom Jaeger Posted September 12, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted September 12, 2017 You only need to set the film speed if the camera has an internal light meter. Except for the EL, H16 Bolexes don't have this, you need to use an external light meter and set the lens aperture manually. Or use one of the Vario-Switar zooms that have auto-exposure function.
Robert Hart
Could you clarify a little for me? By "speed" are you referring to the ASA / ISO of the film as in its sensitivity or the transport speed/frame rate of the camera?
