Max Field
I have about 10 feet in Impact Varipole. I clamp them at the top of the stands with mafers however I have the choice between C-stands or standard Matthews aluminum light stands. The C-stands are heavier but the light stands have a wider center of balance. Which would be more ideal for rigging a couple lights to? Or would it not even matter? Thanks. JB Earl
depends on the weight and orientation of the lights, conditions(wind?), and which aluminum stands you mean. how many sandbags do you have available? how high is the crossbar going to be? your Key Grip should be able to handle this for you. Max Field
your Key Grip should be able to handle this for you. Haha a client paying for a key grip in 2018? This gave me a good laugh. But I'd have a sand bag available for each stand. I'd prefer to use these: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1046658-REG/matthews_b366168_combo_aluminum_stand.html As they are far more portable (also claim a higher load capacity to C-stands). At most I'd be hanging 2 Mole Richardson 1Ks on it. I'm always shooting indoors, but how would wind affect the decision?
