Sean Dahlberg
I'm curious about this furnie blanket (that's what it looks like) "rig" C. Doyle is using at around 4:12 in this video. I'm curious if this is just a rolled up furnie blanket taped up with a work belt threaded through the middle? Has anyone done any DIY type stuff like this to sort of support the weight of the camera while on your shoulders? I'm very interested in hearing your ideas/solutions if so, thank you! AJ Young
It actually looks like Doyle's DIY version of a Cine Saddle: https://www.cinekinetic.com/pro-series Which one came first, I don't know. Does it matter? The Easy Rig seems to be the most popular tool today for redistributing the weight of the camera to the hips, but I'd wager the Ergo Rig is the best design for traditional handheld. Premium Member Joseph Tese Posted March 13, 2020 Premium Member Share Posted March 13, 2020 If you really wanted to try a diy solution, Maybe a furni-burrito or two with a belt or some sort of strap.. But I would suspect some level of frustration to happen and it coming apart. So, probably worth the investment in one of the solutions AJ pointed out.
