Finn van Gelderen
Hi, I'm using the HDV camera for the first time on a documentary that will end up as a print. In anyones experience would it be better to shoot cineframe or clean for the transfer and do the "look" at the grading stage. Thanks, Finn
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted August 30, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted August 30, 2005 The only useful CineFrame mode is 25F if it is recorded as 50i, but you can also just shoot 50i and convert to 25P in post. Avoid 24F and 30F. I'd probably stick to 50i for a film-out. CineFrame is not true progressive-scan.
Lars.Erik
Hey Finn. Doing the same thing at the moment. Have been shooting on and off since april. Shooting next week again. Used the HDV and support David's claim. Just shoot 50i and take it down to 25P in post. Works and looks great.
