chomiczewski Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 Folks: Perhaps I've been asleep lately but today I was informed Kodak no longer offers double perf 16mm film. Is this correct? I still have some double perf stock in my fridge but wondering what the impact will be. I'm also purchasing an Aaton soon which will have Super 16, but I know I will want to still shoot in regular 16. Can anyone point me in the direction where I can read up on this? Thanks Mark
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted April 28, 2004 Premium Member Posted April 28, 2004 Single-perf stock can be used in most 16mm cameras. Double-perf is a special order item.
Mitch Gross Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 Most regular 16mm cameras still only use the single perf, so it doesn't matter if you use single or double perf stock. The exceptions are certain high speed cameras and optical printers. If you really need it you can always special order double perf stock from Kodak at no additional charge, but give some lead time for them to fill the order.
