I've heard of the term rogue's gallery but didn't know what it was.

eBay Photo: Fair Use

Photo titled: Simpson Crawford Dept Store Rogues Gallery.

Looks like this store had their own gallery of thieves. Usually, the police station had the gallery. It may be a recreation of a shoplifter taken in by the store detective...or it may be real? That part is lost to history.

The company selling the glass plate neg has sold tons of old store photos that would put the L.O.C. to shame. Only problem is they cost $40 to $70 a pop with shipping and tax. I bought a few of them over the years but couldn't afford anywhere near what I wanted to buy. Just fantastic stuff.

Well, it's a photographer's studio, isn't it. Those are nonpaying clients, presumably.

I once shot a short film set in 1911 which required our actress to wear an outfit - with a jacket over the top - markedly like the one worn by the woman in the first image.

Corset, long skirt, way too much tight-fitting velvet, and feathers in the hat. She did not enjoy it.
