Pat Simmons
Hi all - First time shooting 16mm. I'm attempting to load the Krasnogorsk-3 and running into issues with the take up spool. When I fire the motor, the bottom take up spool isn't spinning , causing the film to eventually spaghetti. Improper loading? Something to do with the axel? Link below to give you an idea. Premium Member Aapo Lettinen Posted February 26, 2023 Premium Member Share Posted February 26, 2023 looks like the takeup friction adjustment has issues. Likely too little friction causing it not having enough torque to spin the takeup spool. Assuming, of course, that nothing is obstructing the takeup spool... try to adjust the friction until getting it to takeup properly. it may be a good idea to test with a dummy roll that it can takeup the full 100ft of film without issues
Pat Simmons
Thanks for the reply! When I crank it more, it does speed up the takeup spool but still doesn't seem to be as fast as other videos I've referenced
