If *you* had to shoot an entire movie with one 35mm camera and 2 lenses only...what camera and lenses would you choose if your budget was (£3500/$7000) -- I'd buy mics and lights with a separate budget.

For $7K you can buy quite good Kinor-35H outfit.

Konvs-2M will cost you about $1500-2500, so you'll save for good tripod as well.

Though it is my opinion as a seller, not a DP ;-)

Either Konvas 2M or Arriflex 2C

 

SPHERICAL: with a zoom lens and a 35mm/28mm prime lens OR set of three primes 28, 50, 75/85mm;

ANAMORPHIC: with a zoom lens and/or anamorphic 35mm OR set of primes 35mm, 50mm, 80mm

 

Alternatively, depending on the kind of film you shoot and the duration of shooting, I would recommend renting a basic camera with top-notch lenses - if you are not your own DP, you may find one with his own gear,
