What is the best decision of camera to shoot with Anamorphic lenses:

Recommended Posts

So I am currently shooting with the Arri Alexa CLASSIC and I am interested in shooting anamorphic.  The issue is despite my camera having anamorphic license it is still not the best option for shooting anamorphic.  I am considering purchasing a ARRI ALEX PLUS 4:3 to shoot anamorphic,  I am just confused by the full frame thing.  The lenses currently out say FULL FRAME and the Alexa plus is not,, can I still use lenses like the Viltrex or the Orion lenses?

Thanks in advance

It’s fine to use lenses that cover full frame on a S35 camera, the sensor just crops the image circle down. It’s only a potential problem going the other way, if you try to use S35 lenses on a full frame camera, then you can get vignetting.
