  1. I got some cash and a bolex Rex 2 package, runs great! were are you located? Kirk
  2. Hey guys, So I usually post in 16mm section, but I just got my hands on some 35mm short ends from a commercial I PA'd on at Kerner Optical. I'm stoked to shoot some 35, but utterbach and others don't have older, cheaper 35 cams. I kinda wanted to try an eyemo or konvas or something similar. I have a good group of people I shoot a lot of 16 with, so we're gonna pitch in and order some more stock and hopefully shoot a 35 short with like 1000 feet. Anyone in the bay have a 35 rig for rent or possible barter or borrow? I have an Arri S rig with mags and lenses, also a bolex rig as well. We could also barter some time with our solid HVX with Firestore Rig. Or maybe you just want to come mentor a couple 20 something film geeks with your 35 rig and be super awesome ...... we also have cash. Thanks all! Kirk
  3. Sorry man, just uno roll of 100'. bought thinking it would be really cool. but ended up going neg instead. so, in the end. 1 x 100ft roll of kodak reversal color
  4. I got 100 roll of color reversal in my fridge, about 6 months old always in the fridge. I'm in SF, where are you? Kirk
  5. Put me down for 1! Can we pre-order them online or over the phone? and price? love, kirk
  6. Thanks for the comments, I'm still missing my exterior, which was the outside of the Balboa theatre with the neon orange sign flashing on and off. Last minute decision, I built my set and threw up the brick wall because the set was too close to the back wall. lesson learned, don't change your set plan the day of the shoot. kirk
  7. I wrote and directed this piece, the song at the end is messed up and isn't in the final version, so please ignore. followed ken stones guide to youtube and i think it worked really well. let me know! kirk
  8. hey Ray, that sounds like a sweet package, I'm in SF, what are you thinking about price? I also have an Arri S as barter, but cash if you aren't interested. kirk
  9. none of those cameras come crystal controlled, some can be converted, but imo would be a poor choice. Eclair NPR or ACL Cinema Products CP-16 those would be cheaper 16mm sync, under $1500 hopefully, no lens. kirk
  10. ha ha ha...sorry to be an a-hole, but sounds like a case of premature buy it nowing. Once I bought a arri motor from sweden, thought it was an sync motor, but was actually a time lapse piece of junk that was destroyed internally with european cables. Lesson learned. Now, buy a bayonet mount, I've owned several K3's and I don't understand why everyone wants the m42. old m42 lenses suck 90% of the time, I bought the same russian lenses for my bayo K3 and it kicked the crap out of my lousy m42 with old pentax lenses I found on ebay. sigh, I sold all my K3's for a Arri, I miss my old bayo package with three primes and the zoom, it was the most complete I'd ever seen. good luck, sell the M42 and go bayo and never look back! and to be fair this is, in my own opinion... love, kirk
  11. So, would I have to have the camera plugged in to use that motor? I couldn't use my exsiting battery packs? thanks! and still searching. kirk
  12. I was kinda looking for one from the boys on here. one ebay is in Israel and the other is $200 and has crap i don't need. I guess what I mean to say is: BUMP. love, kirk
  13. Title says it all, I want a constant speed 24 fps motor for my Arri s. I'm tired of trying to keep speed in mind on my shoots. I would like to spend $100 including shipping to SF. If you have a crystal I would pay upwards of $400. Let me know what you got! kirk
  14. If you want to come to SF and shoot up here I got one you can barrow. She's just sitting under my bed for the last couple weeks crying herself self to sleep most nights, jealous of the HVX I've been giving all my attention to. kirk
  15. Ok, i just shot a super16 sync sound 20 min short with a price tag of about $25,000 all inclusive. strictly my 2 cents. 1)shoot neg, no reason to shoot reversal, hitting stops sucks, over expose your neg. 2) what do you need a print for?! this is 2007 and cutting on a moviola or steenbeck, while nostalgic, is a waste of time, energy, and looses quality. Magnetic sound sucks and sounds like garbage, take advantage of technology. work smarter not harder. 3) spend the bulk of your cash on a good color corrected telecine. we used fotokem for about 9k, but there are cheaper houses out there. 4)record sound into an ADAT or a xl1 with. Shoot with a clapper religously and everything will sync up fine in post, when you have to sync it yourself for two months. (one of my major duties on the film). (bring beer) 5)and as for a camera, a piece of advice comes from Joesph McBride at SFSU film school. "find the kid with the most expensive/nicest camera and make him your best friend, he will work for free". if you can't find a friend use a Arri BL or NPR. SR's and aatons are great but out of your budget. 6) this is entirely possible. you can make a feature on 16mm for 11k. Use your head and work the hell out of your script with your actors. don't shoot until everyone knows everyline, every feeling, every emotion. Make them sick with anticipation. If you get anxious and shoot with crappy actors you have a crappy movie. Pre production is the most important step in my opinion. love, kirk and before everyone flips out about me and the whole moviola thing, i did say this is all my own opinion.
  16. OK, so the FAF doesn't need anymore bolex accessories. I'll ship to anyone in the USA. gmail me if you want it! BelvedereProductions(at)gmail(dot)com
  17. yeah sorry, it's stayin in SF, someone could easily take this and sell it on ebay to make some dough. I just don't have the patience. If I don't get rid of it by thursday I'll donate it to the film arts foundation in San Francisco. great idea by Justin Bowerbank! I just want some cash for processing!
  18. Hello all, sorry to keep pushing this stuff, but it has to go! My tiny SF studio is cluttered with camera gear. Pick up in SF only, sorry to all who I was attempting to send stuff to, my internet isn't hooked up at home during the move. come take this stuff! http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/for/396492757.html love, kirk
  19. Hey man, welcome to the forum. Check out the search feature and look through the past posts, this question has been answered hundreds of times. After you read a couple you can ask some more specific questions about certain models, pros and cons, etc. search for: Eclaie NPR, ACL Arri SR I II III CP-16 Just to name a few sync sound cams that can be super16 for under 5K. Kirk
  20. A whole bunch of newbies are always complaining that a professional 16mm camera costs over $1000. I was surfing CL and this popped up, here's your chance! I would buy it except I already an arri S and don't need another. Thought I would pass this on to those loyal bolex/scoopic/filmo people, step it up and get your arri! http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/pho/380333776.html love, kirk
  21. just a couple 18fps cams, like a GAF and a chinon, etc. a projector that needed a belt a great hahnel viewer brand new cement splicer other crap I found in my house that I didn't want. over 50 emails in 1.5 hours the guy who emailed me first picked it up in 20 min. stuff went fast! I told him about cinematography.com and hopefully he's reading all about filmmaking now! still have a bolex mag and barney! $100 anyone? lol, I feel like i'm a used car salesman.
  22. MST motor, MAtte box and battery are GONE! I still have the Mag with MM motor, the barney, the unimotor, the case and the pistol grips! super cheap! make me an offer!
  23. check out my post on CL. Local pick up only. box o free film stuff! I have to move out this week! http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/zip/375135781.html
