  1. Hi. A lot of you posting here will have used 'big boy' camcorders. You know, Sony F900, Panasonic VariCam, etc. I was interested what manual image ajustment controls these cameras have? Obviously I know about the basic ones; apeture, shutter, focus, gain, ISO sensitivity, gamma, knee... What have I missed? It it really possible to create basically any type of image in camera with one of these things? Thanks a lot, just blatant curiosity here. ;)
  2. Sounds fantastic! Really deep emotional stuff, I'll be glad to see it completed and on screen. Speaking of which, if my health is up to the job, and you don't mind, could I help out on the filming of said script? Like an AC.
  3. I tried taking a picture, but same problem as Serge I'm afraid. Cloud. :(
  4. Using 25 fps would be a lot more sensible than using 18. More detail goes past your eyes in a second, so the overall quality will be much higher. Plus you can increase frame rate to 50i very easily. The Nizo Professional should have full manual exposure, so you'll be able to rate pretty much any stock. Also, there shouldn't be any difference in how the film is treated for telecine, naturally expect a lot more contrast and saturation with reversal, but that goes without saying. Happy filming! P.S: Michael Lehnert is a fabulous guy, he posts here you know. :)
  5. How about those high detail Star Wars model kits from Revell?
  6. Well, I'm just a rubbishy student photographer at the moment. I just building up my work in order to get film jobs when the economic situation is better.
  7. The problem I had with the chains was that they seemed so light and flimsy. They weren't burdening Marley at all. They were also a brilliant white. I know you were after the 'white as a sheet' effect, but he doesn't look dead or despondent enough for me. Also, I see nothing wrong with your acting. Star Wars should still go ahead. Best! :)
  8. I'd love to see this made into a full length film, Christmas Carol is a story that will never get old in my opinion. The only suggestion I could make is that Scrooge put the candle down and have a more direct talk with Marley, or he sould juse be illuminated by the light of the fire. That aside, brilliant work! I love Marley's plastic chains. Also, you acted both characters terrifically. I especially liked Scrooge. What a doddering old man!
  9. Your story idea sound excellent! Though if I'm working on it as a stormtrooper (I hope I can get time) then I'll absolutely insist on at least one Wookiee!
  10. I've updated the layout of my page and uploaded some new photos, please tell me what you think.
  11. I think you should actually make this film, or a varitation of it. George Lucas has hosted numerous fan film contest over the years, and I think you'd make a great job of it. The CGI aspect of it would be easy peasy, and the fact that you acknowledge CGI will always be less important that ating or storyline qualifies you immediately. And I was talking about David Mullen!
  12. It's a personal thing of course, but I do like circular bokeh in the vast majority of photos. But what can you expect from what is just a consumer camcorder.
  13. Ooh...perhaps that's another name for them.
  14. Mark. Happen to need a camera operator? Because I just happen to know someone... :P
  15. BRING ON THE SLOW AGONISING RANT THAT LEADS TO BASHED EGOS AND IRRITATED MODERATORS!
  16. Bokeh is a point of strong light that's made out of focus by the lens of the camera. Here's a good example below. Here. Sorry I can't directly link the photo. I'm normally a huge fan of bokeh, but my HV30 has a four bladed shutter that produces a diamond shaped bokeh that I'm not so keen on.
  17. I heard somewhere that George Lucas was planning Episodes 7, 8 and 9 for about 2017, 2020, 2023. But it could have just been a bogus interview written by fans, it was on a dubious looking site that gave my old PC adware.
  18. Richard Boddington has ANOTHER feature film on the go!? We haven't seen head nor tail of his current one yet! I want to go where he's going to all this free money.
  19. Hi Mr Taylor. When I bought my HV30 a few months back I noticed it for sale few days later for $125 less. I know it's not on the same level, but if you're happy with what you paid back when you bought it why shouldn't you be now? It won't be any less of a great camera.
