  1. Hi All, Still looking for an Aaton 35-3. Let me know if you have one for sale. -Jesse-
  2. Yes, I still have the 35mm PACE underwater housing and arriflex camera and I could sell you. PM me for more details.
  3. Selling my 3rd generation 4-perf Arriflex 35III! I earlier marked it for $2000 OBO, but I really need to move it so it's being marked down to $1600 + shipping! This is part of that underwater housing setup, but I'm getting little interest so I'm splitting it up. I last used this camera in 2018 on a 15 minute short documentary, running it at 24fps up to 120fps, it's in perfect condition and runs like a dream. Comes with XLR battery cable, Cinematography Electronics crystal high speed control base, handle and two 400ft magazines. Purchased from Visual Products in 2016, Serial # 41156

  5. Here is a complete, PACE Technologies underwater housing package and 4-perf 35mm Arriflex 353, ready to dive! I purchased this kit 3 years ago and had it completely overhauled, a process that took 2 years. I just got it back and I'd love to keep it but I need to finance other projects. Included in the kit: PACE Technologies housing for Arriflex 35III with video tap and wet connector cables (max depth rating 150ft) Arriflex 35III 4-perf camera with normal door and custom door for use with housing (bought from Visual Products three years ago, beautiful condition) Two 400ft magazines Custom video monitor and housing (and a second spare for repairs) Custom Minolta Spotmeter F housing Wide angle dome port Flat port (and a second spare for repairs) Extension tubes Vacuum pump (for drawing a vacuum prior to diving) Four V-mount 12V lithium batteries and charger. (Batteries hold a charge) Two underwater focus targets Two cases parts and spares, including screws, cables, lens gear adapters, cabling etc Comes in five flight cases for the underwater housing and parts/spares (Arriflex 353III camera does not have a flight case) Here's a short test I filmed using the housing on a dive prior to servicing, shot using Kodak 5222 at the Titan nuclear missile silo outside of Royal City, WA. https://vimeo.com/193678272 This dive took the housing to a max depth of 110ft and it performed beautifully. It was a dream to use, perfectly neutral underwater and very easy to handle. I haven't seen another 35mm underwater housing kit, turnkey, ready to dive like this, ever. $8500 USD
  6. Hi John! This housing was sold, but I will have another housing for sale soon: a super rare PACE Technologies Deep Water Housing for Arriflex 35-3! It's spent 2 years being totally overhauled and refurbished, and comes fully turn-key, ready to dive! I will include in the kit the following -> Arriflex 353 camera with two 400ft mags, special Arriflex 35-3 door for viewing with the PACE housing, multiple ports and extension tubes, underwater video tap and monitor, underwater housings for Minolta Spotmeter F and Spectra light meters, vacuum pump, batteries, 100ft wet connect remote monitor cable, underwater targets, spares kit, flight cases and much more! I'll be selling the whole kit for $8000. Let me know if you're interested!
  7. Hi All! I'm ready to buy so let me know if you have / have a lead on an Aaton 35-3 kit. Thanks! -Jesse-
  8. I've shipped film all over North America, both in purchasing and sending for processing. FedEx is the only shipper that appears to respect the "Do Not Xray" notification when possible (not guaranteed) and I've never had a problem yet, so I continue to use the Kodak provided stickers but I won't insist on them not X-Raying.
  9. @tyler Thanks! that'd be great and yes, let me know if you come across anything... I'm looking for a 4-perf.
  10. It's $32,000 and a bit beyond my price range... so still looking for a 35III https://www.ebay.com/itm/Aaton-Penelope-35mm-camera-2-and-3-perf-kit/202117251587
  11. Any more information, Mr. Somos? Price? Is this the one on EBay?
  12. Hi All! I *just* missed out on the last one advertised by Adam, so I'm checking in to see if anyone has a new lead on an Aaton 35III. I'll be continuing work shooting a documentary in the new year and I'm looking for an Aaton to be able to keep things light and shoot on the go. Thanks! -Jesse-
  13. Mark Albert. I'll pm you the contact email. He also builds AC power sources for the amps, so you can run them on standard 110VAC. He does outstanding work. I love the Auricon; the soundtracks I created from mine sounded wonderful and together with Cinework's B+H C-printer and linear processor, I could create sound-on-film shorts totally in-house.
  14. Auricons are fantastic, and I know a guy in the US that services the amplifiers. But if I may offer some advice: You may have difficulty with Ektachrome sound on film; the exciter lamp in 16mm projectors rely on infrared and color dyes aren't that good at absorbing IR wavelengths. That's why the 16mm soundtrack area is re-silvered in ECN processing. 35mm projectors mostly use red soundtrack readers and cyan soundtracks, so dye only is fine there. Anyway, I don't know if 16mm E-6 processing redevelops the soundtrack or if it's necessary, but just a heads-up.
  15. Thanks Tyler, but this is not helpful. I was looking for leads, not a lecture.
  16. Based on sale prices on this site, Ebay and auctions over the past year or so, I was hoping to keep the price under $3000, but can be flexible. I was looking for s35 4-perf, but am fine with academy 4-perf. I doubt anyone would sell anything 3-perf for the pricepoint I'm after :)
  17. Hi All, Putting my feelers out there; I'm looking for a lightweight sync-sound 35mm camera, either an Aaton 35-3 or Moviecam SL. I realize these two cameras are on the louder side of sync-sound, but ergonomics and weight are my primary consideration; I was on expedition with an Arri BL4 recently and its weight was truly a hindrance... never again. PM me with any leads! Thanks in advance. -Jesse-
  18. Hi! I'm selling my transmitter/receiver for SD output from my Arriflex 35III video tap. I purchased these thinking I'd be using them frequently, but as it turns out I've never really used them. So they need to go... Modulus 3000 analog transmitter, cables, antennae + pelican case. Cables are Dtap -> Fischer, XLR -> fischer and Fischer to power port, so you can power either directly from Dtap or 12V XLR Transvideo Pegasus UHF VHF receiver, cables, antennae + pelican case Cables are 2 x XLR -> power port $350 USD + shipping

  20. There are lots of folks offering expired film and it's a really good source of film for testing and film shorts. I purchase expired film where possible, and have saved $$$$ on tens of thousands of feet of perfectly good film. But as you've probably noticed, there's many people trying to sell film for unrealistic prices. Here are the variable I use when deciding how much to spend when buying old/expired film: 1. How old is it? Over time, cosmic rays and terrestrial radiation fogs film. I've shot alot of film (colour and black and white) that was manufactured in 2004-2006 without any issue, but you need to test. I generally avoid film made in the 90's unless it's been tested and it's really, really cheap. The older the film, the more base fog and the more chance of improper storage, which leads to... 2. How was it stored? If the film was frozen, all good and it's worth more. If it's been kept in an attic, then the film will certainly be affected and you can offer less. 3. How urgently do you need it? If you're in the middle of a shoot and you need to match the stocks, then you're probably willing to pay more... which leads to... 4. Do you really need Plus-X? As pointed out, you can buy fresh Tri-X reversal for ca. $40 per 100ft roll. You can also use this as a point of reference on price for online sellers wanting to offer 15 year old film for exorbitant, unrealistic prices. But beyond these factors, I'd never pay $100... you're a hobbyist looking to learn and buying *cheap* expired film is a great way to learn. Plus-X was an awesome film with a finer grain than 7266... I just found two 400ft rolls that were kept frozen since purchase for $15 each. Just keep your eyes peeled and good deals do turn up.
  21. Results are probably pretty decent once you have tested your workflow... I know people that use Dektol in a similar way which seems to give a very 'chalk & charcoal' look to the images, but that could also be operator influence. Otherwise, here's a starter shopping list of chemicals (just add rapid fix).... based on Tetenal guy this should be good for at least 100 rolls of super8 Sodium Sulfite Anhydrous Size: 10-1341 5 lb $19.95 Phenidone* (Class 6.1)(Ground ups only) Choose ups ground at checkout Size: 10-0870 10 g $6.95 Hydroquinone* (Class 6.1)(Ground ups only) / Choose ups ground at checkout Size: 10-0670 100 g 8.95 Sodium Carbonate Anhydrous Size: 10-1189 1 lb $5.95 Potassium Bromide Size: 10-0930 100 g $5.95 Potassium Thiocyanate Size: 10-1090 100 g $39.95 Potassium Dichromate*(Class 6.1) (Bichromate)(§) (GROUND UPS ONLY) DEA FORM REQUIRED / Choose ups ground shipping at checkout Size: 10-1000 30 g $8.95 Sodium Hydroxide* (Class 8)(§) (GROUND UPS ONLY) DEA FORM REQUIRED / Choose ups ground shipping at checkout Size: 10-1270 100g $6.95 Sulfuric Acid 48%*(Class 8) (§)(GROUND UPS ONLY) DEA FORM REQUIRED / Choose ups ground shipping at checkout Size: 10-1445 100 ml $15.95
