  1. Hey! I got a challenge: in the studio I work at, we got two cans of 7240 Ektachrome VNF dated back to October 1977. The film is suppossedly a clandestine shoot inside a Mexican prison in order to accuse the authorities of abuse. The film has been hidden for almost 40 years. The thing is that we need to process it. We can't process it in colour. Are there any suggestions? We normally use HC-110 to process old motion picture film with good results. Thanks!
  2. Hello, if I can put my two-cents on this thread, I used an Elmo 1012 Super 8 camera but I mesured the light with a Canon T3i. The results were great because I had in mind the differences with the shutter and the actual lighting scheme I was using. Bear in mind it is cumbersome to carry around a digital SLR AND a Super 8.
  3. Hello! I have a couple of VNF unprocessed Ektachrome 7240. Does this particular emulsion have rem-jet? Can I process it with E6 or my safest way would be to process it as B&W? Thanks!
  4. It looks great, Jacek! Thanks for sharing the tip!
  5. Thanks for your insight Perry! I have been looking for an Eclair II for ages but now the All-mighty US dollar exchange rste against the Mexican peso makes it more complicated so I am looking for options. Thanks again!
  6. Wow!!! Peroxide as bleach!!!??? How does that work???? I am terrified to use sulfuric acid and potassium diachromate for the bleach I normally use!!!!
  7. Sorry, I forgot the Kinor before 16!
  8. Hello, I have seen Kinor 16 cameras come and go on ebay. How good are they? Are they silent? Reliable? How good is their image quality? What are the lenses it can take? Thanks!
  9. I am very interested on this! Do you think you can ship to Mexico City?
  10. Thank you all for the answers. My safest bet will be to test. I have no idea how the film was stored. Probably, if any, the resulting images will be weird and interesting. BTW, we use a lot HC110 to process old film.
  11. Hello, I have about 5 rolls of this film at the studio I work at. We are wondering how can we process it as black & white negative. We have done it successfully with other stocks but we never had this one. Thanks!
  12. Sorry, I was away for a while! The great thing about questions is the fact that more questions rise and more knowledge can be shared! Nice to read you over here, Richard! We don't have D-19 anymore in Mexico. Do you think I can use HC-110 instead? It is indeed the newer EM-26 process. Hey Josh! Did you transfer the film with your set-up featured in another thread? It looks cool! So you recommend just using the KII as leader and not even bother on tests? Have you ever used e Flexicolor kit to process Vison colour neg? It is what I have handy right now.
  13. Well, it is difficult to get even newer stocks in Mexico City, despite the fact its size. Is that Agfa 200 really that crappy? I never tested it before.
  14. I use Borax to grt rid of the rem-jet. I hate that step but the results look great. Since we don't have many choices on film stock over here (then again who does in this world?), we use whatever we can have handy. I am mainly using Super 8 these days. But then again, it's the stock I have handy right now.
  15. Well, I don't mind processing to B&W. I'm far from being a beginner, I have more than 20 years into photography but I am trying to experiment even more. Thanks for the tip!
  16. I got all of this film and I wonder how I can process them. I have a good idea of how to process the Vision stock but I want to experiment with the other stocks. I have access to Lomo and G3 Morse tanks and a wide array of B&W developers and perhaps I can even get my hands on some colour developers. Any help will be appreciated.
  17. Hey Matt, I am interested in your stock, can you pm me for costs? Thanks!
  18. C41 comes in powder, the Tetenal comes in liquid form. I still have no clue why the difference. Perhaps you're right and the bleach is the one that is more dangerous.
  19. The results seem amazing! I particularly liked the A-Minima one. It is nos kosher though! Richard, I am planning to use Unicolor C41. Itis the only available chemistry to be mailed to Mexico City. How you got ECN chemicals? Are they available down under in bulk? I like the unpredictability of cross process but I'm not sure if I want that all the time. I don't see the point either Mark but I gave up on trying to import the E6 Tetenal developer. It is impossible to get it in Mexico. I love the colours of reversal but I guess I'm stuck. Thanks all for your comments and tips!
  20. Has anyone tried this before? How is it? Can it be cross-porcessed or is it sacrilegous?

  22. There's a ban from the UE too...so I'm pretty much screwed...
  23. Well, I'm flying solo over here, Chris! All expenses are on me! Exactly, John! Where is it!?
