He said it is time to buy a camera. So I gather that he knows what he is doing and wont get screwed. Think before you try and correct him. :)

hi, Welcome to the forum :D -
You could actually get crystal sync motor for the k3, if you wanted to spend more than you paid for the camera. It can also be converted to s16 for around $200. Its better to spend a couple hundred bucks to learn the basics then to spend the big bucks buying or renting a camera to learn the craft. This topic has come up a lot in the past, which may be the reason people are not responding to this post. <_< Search the archives. :)

:)No don?t take it personally it is just my input. You can do what ever you want. If Picasso would have listened to the idiot next to him telling him to stop painting screwed up people, where would the world be today :D zach

ahh...... film making :D don't stop trying but Never expect profits -
My guess is you would try to get in touch with their representatives or the bands agents. But it is possible that someone else owns the rights to the music. So I would try to find out who owns the rights and then ask for permission to use their music. It can be a pain sometimes, they my want to see the script, or any other info they might decide they want to see. But that?s just what I think based on what I have read. ^_^ I think (correct me if I?m wrong) that the record company owns the rights to the bands profits, and the pays the band. But I?m not in the music biz so.

I am looking for a good book about types film stocks and filters used, and about what they do for the look of a film and how they can be used. If possible a book with pictures of scenes shot with different films using different techniques, and how they made them look that way. thanks Zach

I rented it and just took it back. So I cant really remember but it seemed to be in the outdoor shots.

I noticed blue grad filters on Schindler?s list  But if it is in b&w does that mean it was added like the little girls red coat?

Ok I understand the film part of telecine. But what happens to all the synced sound during this time. <_<
-
Ok so I send my film in to a telecine house and have them transfer it to video For editing on APP 1.5 This my be a stupid question but can I sync sound myself using premiere Without a timecode and just a standard slate, or am I better of just paying to have it done. I have heard that it is considerably more expensive to sync without a timecode

wow.. how long will that last?

HELP!!!!!!!!
zrszach replied to technicolordreamer's topic in Students, New Filmmakers, Film Schools and Programs
i think the best thing thing to do is to read alot. and then apply it to real life you can learn alot by just reading good books on the subject but you do also have to test what you have learned by making films another good thing to do is take still photos to learn basic exposure techniques one thing you need to know is that shooting a movie on film is very expensive so you need to know as much as possible before you start. but most of all have fun, if you are not having fun then dont do it you must have passion, passion drives perfection -
I just wanted to know if there are any creditable rental houses in or near Honduras. I?m thinking of shooting on a small island of the coast but I don?t know where to get good equipment. Thanks in advance Zach
