  1. i'm now on a different computer, and it seems that this option either is not available in older versions of firefox or is in a different menu. maybe you just need to download the latest update.
  2. i seem to remember someone mentioning this before... tools-options-advanced-general
  3. there is an option in firefox called "check spelling as i type." it seems to work fairly well.
  4. J: Question. What kind of bear is best? D: That's a ridiculous question. J: False. Black bear.
  5. http://www.amazon.com/Rashomon-Rutgers-Fil...a/dp/0813511801 it's referenced in the opening line of this book. you can actually read the first page with the "search inside" feature.
  6. i've experimented with this a little in FCP. here's something to try: use the 3-way color corrector. first bring the saturation all the way down. at the bottom of the screen for the color corrector appear the words "limit effect." click on the arrow in the bottom left corner of the color corrector screen to bring up this tool. this will allow you to apply color correction to only certain colors in the frame. use the saturation, color, and luminance selectors to isolate the color of the basketball. clicking on the basketball with the "select color" tool on the right side of the screen (the one that looks like an eye dropper) will give you a good start, and you can tweak from there. at this point, the basketball should be black and white, and everything else should be color. click on the "invert" tool on the right side of the screen (the one with a trapezoid) to get the desired effect of a colored ball on a black and white background. i don't know how well this will work if there are people in the frame (it might be hard to get the color of the basketball without also getting some skin tones--when i tried this, i was able to isolate a green object fairly easily, but i could not isolate a red object without picking up lots of skin tones). just try to make sure there's nothing in the frame that is of a color similar to the basketball. good luck.
  7. i apologize for directing you there. i hope you get everything worked out. now i'm nervous, because i'm supposed to be renting a costume from them for a shoot next week.
  8. There is some fake money here: http://www.abracadabrasuperstore.com/catal...y/p1/index.html but i've never actually used it, so i don't know how convincing it is.
  9. Oh, and obviously feel free to respond in this thread with any questions or anything.
  10. Hello all, I'm a first-time poster who has been reading the forums for a while now. I'm a senior at Princeton University, and I'm looking for a couple of people to help me shoot my thesis film over one week at the end of January. Here is some general information about the project: It will be a black and white movie, about 20-25 minutes long, and it will take place mostly in a house, with a few scenes in various other places (one in a gun shop, one in a hotel room, a few outside, etc.). I would like to shoot on super-16, but i may have to shoot on video for budget reasons. (If you own or have access to a film camera, that may help me to be able to shoot on film rather than video.) As you may have guessed, I will not be able to pay much, if anything. However, if you own a camera or lights, or anything that would save me from having to rent it, I will be happy to pay you a bit for that. The movie is a dark comedy about a man in the process of going insane. There are dream sequences which the man has more and more trouble separating from reality. He becomes convinced that someone is trying to steal his kidneys, and that everyone he knows is in on the conspiracy. I have a rough script, if you would like to take a look at it. I also have a 28-minute video short that I made last year for a few hundred dollars, if you would like to see some previous work. If you have questions, or want to know more about me, or want to see the script or the video short, or just want to express your interest in this project, you can email me at the following address: btopey@princeton.edu or call me at 504-952-2735 I look forward to hearing from you. --Brett Topey
