  1. As for me, I do not take of Kinor digital cameras at my hand. But, I'm from Dneporpetrovsk and we had experience to use of RED camera ( two commecial shoots) lat stime only. We do not a big centre of filmmaking. From other side, The many filmmakers from Moskov , St-Petersburg had experience to use of Kinor digital cameras and have very high opinion.   3. Mark told correct. This is two small screws, what for the carrying strap ring just in front. The screws do not have any influence of mechical or optical quality of camera. If you need any gaffer system, you can take away of front panel and make of any holes on upper side of body of camera. But, you mus be very careful. The camera have systems of pisms of viewfinder on this size of body and you can lost of flange focal distanec after you take away of front panel. That's why, you need search of other points of monotor addition. I can recommed of side place of body from side of upper film spool. The body of camera do not have any parts of mechanism on this place and have of decorative panel inside of camera.
  4. I can suppose : Too big size of upper loop. The film touch of upper end of film gate at time between phase of moving film of main cog's wheel, up to time of transpot pin go. Or, the film touch of end of surface of plastic film leading.

As for me, K-3 fo not must have this problem. The cog's wheel have plastic film leading between sides of cog's wheel and film do not must go round a wheel. May be, your camera do not have this leading or leading brolen. The second idea. The leading have too big gap from wheel. You can see plastic post, near pressure plate with two small screws. If you unscrew of this screws, you can move of post to film gate or from film gate. The post have pin with spring and change of position of post will chnage of pressure effort of spring to pressure plate. Any case, if you move of post to wheel, you can deminish of gap between leading and wheel. This can help. Any case,i recommend to use manual mode of film loading and set of upper loop of film do not big size.
  7. This is Russian LOMO OKS-150-1 150mm F2.8 lens with lens mount of 16 mm cine camera Kinor-16 SX-2M. The similar optical block OKS-1-150-1 have 150 mm lens from 35 mm cine camera Konvas-2M, Kinor-35H. At my test, the diameter of image of OKS-1-150-1 lens with Kinor-16 lens mount neat 50 mm, That?s why, I think, this lens can cover Super 35 size without problem and can be use at RED with 4k and 2K resolutions. The lens can be upgrade on PL mount.

( olex.camera@gmail.com) I have many technical literature about russian films, technology processing, other and have long time personal experience of use and processing of russian films. I think, you mean of Svema, Shostka , Ukraine film factory, B&W negative film A2SH, 320 ASA. Can be process like any B&W negative films. If you will need, I can gine you firm formula of solutions and technology processing. The fist can be push very good. I love use of this films, because, the film very "complaisant" and can be process with super low grain with speed 50..65 ASA, up to high contrast 650ASA. But, this can be film from old stock. From other side, all russian films have KS perforation and you need use of any cine camera without registration pin ( Like Arri 2C ) , or russian with registration pin ( original versin of Kinor-35S, H, and other ) Yes, You can use of any west camera With registration pins, but, the registration pins do not work, because, the size of hole of KS have more big size from BH. And. The Svema films can have a other thickness from Kodak.
  9. Russian, Svema Color reversal CO-50D, 50 ASA film, perforation DS8 ( double Super 8 ) film, for DS8 cameras with ( two stripes Super 8 from every side ) 10.5 m roll. Svema color reversal technology processing, like old ORWO process with 25 'C. Can be process with E-6, but, with 25..30C and color balance can be change. But, the film can have old date manufacturing and will need use more long time of processing at all steps. The perforation of film do not compatible with 16 mm cameras. At box of film must be print of nulber of emulstion and final date of processing ( I think, up to 1993 ) 16 mm cine cameras can use of D8 ( Doulble 8 ) film.
  10. If you think about value of speed 23.976 fps, you need crystal sync speed system and motor must have feed back sensor. This must be closed PID PWM speed control system. The speed control systems without feed back sensor do not have fixed speed, the speed will drift. The speed of motor will depend from working load.

The warkflow can be two versions, the first version - HD 1080/25/i with outoput color YUV with pre-color correction, the second -RAW output, Y channel at HDSDI. The sensor Dc2K 2380х1720 , HD 1920х1080 and 2K 2048х1152, size 22мм, DC4K camera have sensor with resolution 4820х3400 size 25,4 мм.   12. O... If you wish use of 1Mom 2W potentiometer for control of speed of DC motor, Sorry, but, this is impossible. If you need technical consultation, can send me direct email , with more detailed information about your idea. What kinds of type of motor have of your scan head ? DC with PWM control ? If your scan head have digital feed back, need increase of resolution of feed back sensors. Need stude of principle of control and schematic.
  13. Depend from thickness of film. Do not need forget, the length of 60 m of roll calculate from thickness of old russian Svema film. The user manual of Konvas cameras told, the maximum diameter of roll of film must be 111-112 mm. The film must have emulsion inside.
  14. May be, you can think to install of motors from russian cine cameras ? The many russian motors can have crystal sync speed control. If you will need dimensions, pictures, can ask me. I can help to build of crystal sync speed motor too. As for me, I recommend 29 EPSS motor of Kinor-16 camera or motor module of 5 BDS, 18 EP-16 APK, or 17EP-16 APK, 19EP-16APK motors of Konvas-1M, 2M cameras. The hand crank shooting ask of mechanical system of speed stabilization. That's why, if you do not have of mechanical speed stabilizator on camera, you will have footages with oscillating quantity of speed.
  15. I don't have official information about Super 16 cover. The official information about Suepr 16 had of Optar Illumina, Elite Optics lenses only. The russian 16 mm lenses( made in USSR ) had 'Academy 16" standard size of image only. But, the many lenses of 16 mm and 35 mm cameras had similar optical blocks. I know, the 50 mm lens of Konvas-1 ( 35 mm ) camera have OKS-1-50-1 optical block and the lens 16OKS-1-50-1 of SP-16 ( 16 mm) use of similar optical block. 75 mm lens and more long lenses can cover of Super 16. About other type of lenses, need do of test with Super 16 film gate.

  17. I think, theoretically, to upgrade of russian 16 OKS lenses on K-3 bayonet mount possible. But, need study of design of every lens. The russian professional cine camera 16SP had very good set of prime lenses. This is 10 mm OKS-1-10-1 f=2.8 15 mm OKS-2-15-1 f=2.8 25 mm OKS-1-25-1 f= 2.5 50 mm OKS-1-50-1 f=2.0 75 mm OKS-2-75-1 f=2.8 16 SP have similar bayonet mount, like Krasnogrsk-1, 2, 3 bayonet mount and prime lenses of 16SP can be use with Kransogorsk cameras. If you will ask , to take of 16 OKS prime lenses of set of Kinor-16 SX-1M camera and upgarde on lens mount of Krasnogrosk camera, I think, this possible, but, disadvantageously and will ask big money. The every modification of lens mount will ask of precision procedures and special parts and will ask of money. That's why, the price of lens modifictaion canbe similar of price of body of Kinor-16 SX-2M camera with better mechanism, electrical motor and other. That's why, If you think, about OKS professional lenses, can be better, if you will think about Kinor-16 SX-2M camera and do not upgrade of lens mounts of every lens. For note, The prime lenses of Kransogorsk cameras, Mir, Vega - high quality lenses too. Mir, Vega - civil name of lenses. OKS- name of professional lenses. Yes, of course, the professional lenses have more high technical requests , to have less tolerance at production. For comparison, 16 OKS-1-10-1 10 mm F2.8 lens have 9 glasses optical scheme, have resolution 58 lines per mm at centre and 25 at corner.   18. Yes, K-3 camera have forward trace only. But, if you need re-winding ( running of film in reverse ) or unwind film at short distance for trick effects, i recommed russian 16 mm cine camera Kiev-16UE. Kiev-16 UE have electrical motor with forward and reversal trace, have two film counters, at meters and at frames. The first edition of russian 16SP camera had reversal trace too, but, the filmmagazines had problem at reversal winding and next edition of camera lost of this function. Kinro-16 SX-2M can be run at reversal trace too.
  19. Do not worry. All OK, this is iris blades of aperture control of Quarz camera. If you unscrew of front zoom attachment, You can see of blades of aperture conrtol more detailed. the aperture control can be at auto and manual control. from left side of camera, you can see of handle of manual aperture control with on-off switch of auto mode ( need setup of handle on extreme position with click ) . If you will see on viewfinder, you can see of aperture scale and indicator of aperture control. If you will turn of handle of aperture control, the indicator will move too. If you setup of handle of apeture control on " auto " mode and the battery of leght meter have good condition( two batteries setup at holder inside of film magazine module ), the light meter will measuring of value of light and will control of position of indicator inside viewfinder and will control of position of big blade at film gate. The handle of aperture control have marks " M" - manual and " A " - auto. You can check of all this process from side of main lens ( without front zoom attachment ). From rigt side of camera, you can see of handle with digitals -2, -1, 0 + 1 +2. This is film speed control handle of light meter and use for setup of speed of film or load of correction of exposure. The russian Quarz camera build for russian Svema CO-50D or OCHE-45 films with speed 50 ASA, this is "0"position. If you will use of film with other speed, you need set of handle of aperture control on other position. 100 ASA -1 200 ASA -2 25( 32 )ASA +1 12ASA +2 Quarz 1x8S-2 camera do not have of Auto DX film speed coded system, that's why, you must setup of speed of film manually, by handle of light meter . And. You do not forger, the Auto TTL light meter will work at loaded spring of motor only. The matter is that, if the spring of motor empty, the reflective part of shutter disk can set out of light sensor of TTL meter and light from lens do not touch of sensor and light meter do not work. The camera have build in 85 filter for use of Tungsten flms at daylight shooting. You can see of handle from ring side of camera with marks " Sun " and " bulb". This is handle of control of film load. The position of handle " Sun" show, the film inside of film gate and t you can shoot of tingsten film with daylight. The many guys ask me about size of screw ( from camera side )of front zoom attachmnet. Yes, The front zoom attachmnet ( I do not call of zoom lens ) have C-mount screw between camera and zoom attachmnet. And many guys had idea to install of c-mount lenses. Sorry, but, this is do not possible. You don't can to install of any other lens on Quarz 1x8S-2 camera with C-mount. The optical system of Quarz 1x8S-2 camera consist from main prime lens ( 12.5 mm ) and front zoom attachmnet. The main prime lens setup inside of camera ( You can see of this lens, after you unscrew of front zoom attachmnet ) and have complex optical system with two blade aperture control, with separating prism, additional optical system of ground glass and ground glass. That's why, do not possible to disconnect of main lens, because, this is part of cine camera. You can see, the Quarz camera have shutter disk, but, the image at viewfinder do not blink. Quarz camera have optical system with separating prism and light from lens divide on way to film and to second way to ground glass of viewfinder. That's why, you can see image on viwfinder without winking at run of camera. But, you do not need forget about this , if you will use of external exposure meter. Because, you must take into account light-transmission factor of separating prism. The camera can have a two close up glasses at set. This is F=250 mm and F=667 mm. The camera with 250 mm atatchmnet will have distance of focusing 0.28-0.32 m with 667 mm 0.48-0.8 m. If you will have more querstions or will need original user manual, can ask me. This is russian professional 16 m cine camera Kinor-16 SX-2M The original 29EPSS motor can be convert on multi speed crystal sync speed motor with digital film counter, digital voltmeter of battery, remote control and auto shutter parking system. The version of multi speed synthesizer available for upgrade too. The buyer can ask me about repair, service, upgrade of Kinor camera.
  21. Sorry, 16OPF-1-2M 12-120 mm or with 0.75 front attachment ( 10-100 mm ) do not possible to upgrade on M42 screw mount. ( and K-3 bayonet mount too ) The lens have too big diameter of rear part of body. If you have K-3 M42 you can use of M42 photo lenses, but, you will have big needs at wide angle lenses, 8...10...12 mm. But, all photo lenses with similar focus distances - fish eye lenses with big distortion. That's why, i do not propose of good choose of M42 lenses with wide angle. A few years ago, i had idea to upgrade of 12.5 mm MIR lens from K-1, K-3 bayonet mount lenses on M42 screw mount version. As for me, this is posisble, will need make of new part of body. If you wish, you can build of hand made rear part of Mir lens with M42. 16 OPF-12-1 10-100 mm or (with 0.75 front attachmnet 7.5-75 mm) can be upgrade on K-3 bayonet mount only. I don't can tell you my personal opinion about Angenieux 12 -120 zoom lens, i don't had at my practice. But, i can tell you me personal opinon about Angenieux 10 -150 zoom lens. I have this lens with my Eclair ACL-1.5 camera. After a some test, i use of russian 16 OPF-12-1 10-100 mm zoom lens with lens mount adapter with my Eclair. As for my opinion, Russian 16 OPF-12-1 10-100 mm have better optical characteristics from Angenieux 10 -150.

And build many centres of technical education of children, to open children's clubs and technical study group. The one programm was - photo and cine children's clubs. The clubs had photo and cine cameras, phono and cine films, chemistry, processing equipmnets. And all this was free of money. The childrens must have of wish only. From other side, you can shoot of photos and movie at home, out of clubs, but, must buy of all photo and cine cameras personally at shops. If we will told about cine cameras The USSR product inductry give of cine cameras for hobby shooting : Normal 8, Super 8, D8, DS8, ( Ekran, Kama, Quarz, Avrora ...) For semi-professional film shooting - 16 mm. ( Alpha, Kiev, Krasnogorsk ). The home movie shooting, widding shooting do at Super 8, Normal 8. But, the amateur documentary films, travel films, scientific expedition, scientific experiments, educational films - at 16 mm. Krasnogorsk cameras delivery at children clubs, research laboratory, factory, but, you can buy of camera at shops too. As for me, 99% of all cameras send by government delivery. But, this was up to 1990, after, the 80% of all cameras sold by shops on private persons. The administration of factory to make a present ( Krasnogorsk) of persons, who retire on a pension. Krasnogorsk have high price, 640 rubels ( the salary of engineer was 130..140 rubels per month ). Super 8 Quarz had price 280 rubels, simply Avrora- 140 rubels. That's why, we don't had possibility to buy of Krasnoghrosk at private use. But, if i was at children's club, i can take of Kransogrosk for personal shooting free of money. The many guys to buy of Quarz, Avrora cameras for shoot of home movie, shoot of private travel movie, wedding. I was student, and can buy of old stock of Super 8 films with big discount ( 10..20 copecks per roll). The new films had price near 2 rubels per roll and processing at lab 1..2 rubels per roll. This was accessible hobby. And many guys had N8, S8, D8, DS8 cameras at personal usage. Krasnogorsky optical and mechanical factory ( KMZ, manufaturer of Quarz and Kransogrosk cameras ) manufactured: 1960 - 3500 pcs of Quarz 1965 - 80000 pcs of Quarz and 15 pcs of Krasnogrosk-1 1970 - 60000 pcs of Quarz and 6000 pcs of Krasnogorsk-1,-2 1980 - 32000 pcs of Quarz and 5000 pcs of Krasnogorsk-3 1990 - 30000 pcs of Quarz and 8000 pcs of Kransogorsk-3 Total 157000 of Krasnogorsk-1, 2, 3 I had business with Krasngorsk cameras long time and can imagine of life story of every camera from condition of camera. I taked a Kranosgorsk -1 cameras, what use at many scientific expeditions and had many marks about famous places. I think, the many Krasborgosk-1 and Krasnororsk-2 cameras had good work life. The first lots of Kransogorsk-3 cameras ( up to 1990 ) had good work life too. But, the many Krasnogorsk-3 cameras (1988..1992) had " like new " condition and do not use any time, storing only. I think, this cameras to buy for storing of money only, because, we had super inflation. Any case, this is my personal opinion only. The next question : = Since the 10 to 100 zoom cannot be converted to M42 which lenses can be? Yes. 10-100 zoom lens have big diameter of rear part of lens, That's why, do not possible to install of M42 screw mount back on rear side of lens. We can install of bayonet mount of K-1, K2, K-3 cameras on rear side of 10-100 zoom lens only. = Also, is it possible to make an adapter from M42 to Krasnogorsk Bayonet? Sorry, this is do not possible too. If you have K-3 M42 and with use of 10-100 zoom lens, the one way - to repalce of lens mount of K-3 camera from M42 version on bayonet version, but, this is do not easy procedure. Will need replace of front part of body with centering of lens mount and re-adjust of flange focal distance. Thats' why, will be better, and cheap, to buy second body of K-3 with bayonet mount.
