  1. Hi Christian. As far as your job is concerned i thought it looked great, you nailed the red look. Beautiful contrast, was it shot on HD? I saw a lot of '28 days later' in the camera movements, nothing wrong with that "steal from the best" as the saying goes. You should get a lot of work out of this Christian! Well done. Kieran.
  2. Hi Jacob. Nice work! I know what effort goes into a piece like this (and time!) You nailed the timing of the soundtrack perfectly. Maybe some more variation in the head shot of the talent would have been nice, and the deep perspective segments ( hands on railings ) worked best for me! Keep it up! Kieran.
  3. Miguel. Nothing to critique here, you must know how good this is! Top notch work! The low key scenes are stunning! The mark of an exceptional photographer if you ask me. with envy! Kieran.
  4. Hau-Jou Chiou. Just realised i spelled your name wrong! sorry! Kieran.
  5. Hau-Jou Chiau. You kept it simple and it looks stunning! When the finale soundtrack is added i'd love to see the finished product. Great camerawork! Kieran.
  6. Just one more thing, what lighting kit did you have? it looked mostly daylight through 216.to Nice framing by the way! Kieran.
  7. Hau-Jou Chiau Not sure about Edith Piaf but the rest was gorgeous. Was that duotone look done in post or with yellow filters? I loved the natural look (not sure about all the flashes seemed a bit over the top after a while ) That last shot of the girl was beautiful. my compliments!! Kieran.
  8. John, Looking at your reel I'd be cautious of what cinematography courses you could take, you might be disappointed by the entry level. You're in the right city for a decent DP that's what I'd go for, there's no substitute for working on a crew, looking at how you handle the camera you should get 2nd AC no bother maybe even pull focus on a smaller crew. I'm going to sound like your dad now, but you have to watch your work at college, there is no better safety net than a degree ( well there is but I'm assuming your not a millionaire ) and cinematography will always be there a college education wont! Didn't mean to lecture John, Good luck Let us know how you get on in the summer. Kieran.
  9. Hi John, I must say that's an impressive reel for a 22 year old, learn all that at NYU ? I'll be watching for your name in the majors. Good luck, Kieran.
