  1. Selling a battery which can be either used for a Bolex Ebm (i am supplying a 4pin to 7pin power cord, with a custom on off switch built in) and it can also be used for the Tobin Time lapse unit, auction = http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=320602032689&Category=40975&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2 Its ending soon, but will put it back up again tonight, thanks for looking
  2. I am interested in getting a degraded video look, a bit like this music video here: http://vimeo.com/7665385 Is it simply a question of taping on an old VHS deck several times over? Or is it software based... Also the show Banzai How do you think that strange saturated/video look is achieved?
  3. Hi I am selling my Miller tripod in the UK. Its on ebay here, so please take a look, thanks! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT
  4. I will have to go with ebay i think...i did email a few people but strangely no 100ft of that stock around in uk...thanks anyhow
  5. Does anybody know of a place which deals in 7285 100ft rolls in the uk? Widescreen center and a couple of others seem to stock only 400ft of it...
  6. i think i might experiment with the reversal as I need a positive image on the film to play with. Thanks for the help(s) - D
  7. I have an idea for a piece i am working on that involves using reversal film. But I was wondering whether using the tobin time lapse motor for stop frame work on a film like this is a no no. Because reversal is so unforgiving and I am opening up the shutter of the bolex for a really long time. (I have to use a heavy nd to compensate.) Is it best to avoid using reversal in this way? And if I am not working with sunlight, in a studio - will a heavy nd and an 85 be ok? Seems like a lot of filters! My original idea was to animate 35mm slide stills. But the costs involved just outweighed the pros. I figured that I can use 16mm reversal instead.
  8. Hi this is my animation, any feedback would be great, thanks - http://www.vimeo.com/5479993
  9. Looks gorgeous. One question, why did you add the spots and marks of a distressed film look. Or was that achieved in camera somehow? - It's heavyweight alright....Sprucey spruce.
  10. You know this short is a breath of fresh air from ones I have been watching on YouTube of late, no disrespect to them. Such a great use of taxidermy and how taxidermy is so underrepresented these days! I think surprise is often a good tactic for holding my attention, and I was absolutely riveted from beginning to end. That comes from being completely unaware of what I had expected, well I expected something around the lines of "Fight the Ban," or something to the contrary. But this just threw me. I can really sense the enthusiasm and enjoyment in this little project - with a big vulgar gesture to narrative, 5 *'s. p.s. I thought the gloves with the marble eyes first time around felt a little out of place. I think maybe you could push that aesthetic next time as it is already quite "full," in the world it evokes for me. Taxidermy, fox hunting, and marbles are all great avenues for an aesthetic that is good looking, complimentary and organic - appearing to be not too selected from mere choice. What camera/ film / budget etc?
  11. Is it possible to get a high res scan/ uncompressed to a file(s) on DVD disc(s)? My film would be about 2 minutes long... But I dont want to go put it to Digi beta, because then I would have to get the footage to my computer, which I dont necessarily have access too. I could put it to a hard drive I suppose, but logistically thinking - posting some DVD's around the country is alot more feasible... This a possibility or no?
  12. Can anyone suggest a decent manual zoom lens for a Canon 400d. I am doing some stop motion, hence the manual reducing flicker, and bought a really cheap and nasty Nikkon lens with an adapter. So could anybody suggest a nice manual zoom Nikkon lens?
  13. I was listening to his accent and I thought it was distinctly from the North of England, no worries -
