  1. Have you seen the 35mm version? Stephen actually this is what I'm looking for. If somebody with some experience have seen 35 mm projections.. we could read a lot of stuff about how good or which problems the prototype could have, but how really looks ? Rodrigo
  2. Does anybody know a 35 mm blow up experience from Red? rodrigo
  3. Merlyn.. the answer is simple.. HD is more than HDV . Lens is a problem , but also is a hook for those who have a kind of indecision. the industry is no focused in develop 1/3 ccc lenses for a couple of specific cameras.. because of that 35 mm adapter are so popular. Take your time,, check the technical specifications and check image test and finally take a choice. Good luck Rodrigo
  4. I have my spectra IV A for ten years . simply the best partner at this time.. in the other hand, last year I did a calibration in burbank (not because did wrong readings just because a good friend need a "Spa-vacation").. spectra guys are very professional ... ask for Gabriel Perez if you need support .. Rodrigo
  5. Peter.. I haved a couple of questions in term of your procedure . What was the original format of the picture? Why did you choose JEPG to import in avid ? Why not a TIFF or other less compress format? I feel with those details you could have a totally different image quality and readings. Respectfully Rodrigo
I invite all anglo-speakers (and other languages people) to make an effort and open theirs language frontiers and support this... Sometimes our english could be really bad, but all opinions are important. Thanks cinematography.com for this space
  7. I think you are right Tim. They decided use color film not because a contrast or grain option (in first option) but an production requirement. The "production" don't believe in B&W movies and don't want to give money for B&W stock but Coen Bro. know how the picture must look like.. Deakins did a great job working in color to desaturate in post.. Rodrigo
  8. Francisco be clear, don't get stress, check flange focus, tie your cables, enjoy it and good luck!! Rodrigo
  9. Estoy de acuerdo contigo Alberto.. esa tecnica es muy usada incluso en exteriores simulando amaneceres o atardeceres... (no seria malo comenzar a realizar nuestros post en ambos idiomas... ) un abrazo Rodrigo
  10. Hey matt.. great job.. looks simple and effective.. all the best dog Rodrigo
  11. Hey friends.. don't spend more time in this lens-e- discusion.. Go spanish.. "LENTE" HAVE NO CHOICES is simple and universal.. Cheers Rodrigo (spanish speaker) Llano
  12. miguel Just check the gate plate pressure and go to Gama to develop the footage (actually if you can do the test in both labs) In my experience you'll find huge differences between Chilefilms and Gama specially in sharping. if you need any advise, just call me Rodrigo
  13. David. which percentage did you use to bleach the negative and printers?
  14. Interesting point. Certainly this is one of the big differences between the digital and film works.
  15. Hey David As always , thanks for sharing your knowledge and showing us how resolve your shoots.. all the best Rodrigo

  19. I'd test it last week, and i was surprised with the low sensivity of hvx 200, around 160 ISO. A huge difference if Panasonic try to sell this camera as a second camera for Varicam shots. Respectfully Rodrigo BTW.. Depend of the mode the HVX 200 have big ligth response differences. IS NOT the same exposure for 720 60p or 720 24np .. Obviously some settings make some differences.. rodrigo
  20. I just need the video levels (mean waveform-vectorscope). I get the scopebox trial version and i'll test it tomorrow or tuesday (but i think that 600 bucks for a scope software is a little expensive).. thanks everybody... i'll post how scopebox and FCP works for this proposal.. Respecfully Rodrigo
  21. "1080 psf 25 is progressive" sorry Gunleik but any resolution at "PSF" IS NOT progressive is based in Interlaced images. PSF means Progressive Simulated Frames and is the technology used by many manufacturers including Sony to get "progressives" images from a Interlaced capture. Respectfully Rodrigo Llano
