  1. Ian, Thanks for all the helpful info. Yeah I think I might shoot this 16. Just some of the investors wanted to know what it would take to shoot 35 and I saw this camera for really cheap. So I didn't know. Thanks for all the great info on the Konvas 2M. I'll look into it for sure. ;) Thanks again for all your help.
  2. Need some help here guys. I was looking at this page. The MITCHELL 35MM STANDARD NC caught my eye, for price and everything you get with it. Now here is my question.... I'm planning on shooting a feature film this summer, would this camera do it? I was planning on renting the 115V AC motor, sync (20 bucks) so I can shoot with a DAT or Reel to Reel for sound. I was just wondering if anyone has shot with this camera before? How noisy is it? Do you get good study images? My film is about 60 percent dialogue this is why I ask about sound of the camera. Will that AC motor sync both camera and audio? I'm not sure if it's crystal, but I don't think it is. So I was just wondering if this camera could perform. If you need anymore info just let me know...Thanks in advance everyone! :)
  3. Sean, Those are awesome screengrabs! Any video? I hope my color film comes back like that! What stock were you shooting by the way? That's the next thing I would like to get is the Angenieux Zoom Lens. Would you happen to have an extra one you might want to get rid of? :D Yeah it's great to see more and more people getting interested in this camera. It's a good one. ^_^ P.S. Welcome to the boards! B)
  4. It looks like you got an Awesome deal there rebel. :D I've worked with the Sankyo Super Micro and it is a very nice camera! Again this just proves that Ebay saves the day...and budget! :) Hope they are all in great condition when you get them.
  5. Tom, I was using Tri-X 7266. I used the 25mm lens that was on the B&H. :) I got about that much time, but we wound the camera after about every 3 takes, just to make sure it was nice and tight. I don't know the max ASA the camera can take but I bet pretty much anything. As if you set the lens manuelly then you just have to know how much light to let in with the film speed your shooting. Tri-X outdoors is 200ASA and I think it turned out really well. ;) Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed this little test. Hope you get shooting with yours soon.
  6. Christopher, yes I've shot with the camera with excellent results! I would compare it to a higer end camera for sure! Crystal sharp picture, ROCK STUDY picture, I mean just everything you could ever ask for. I set the camera manually without the EE. REMEMBER this is only a TEST FILM and was shot only as a TEST FILM. That's all this is. This was just to see if the camera even worked! We desided to shoot a short scene for the test. The file size is about 15mb, as I tried to make it look as clear as possible. The transfer I did to get it to the computer is "crude" and doesn't do the film justice at all. But atleast you'll be able to see what the camera can do. I tested all speeds with it and they all work great! Here is the film test right here. :) Congrats on getting the cam. I think you should be pleased. If you have any questions just let me know. P.S. I'm shooting some color tests now! :D
  7. Yep, Item # 3878178533. 1 Day left. B)
  8. Hey, Yeah that was me that put that clip up! It's just a test. :P The topic is still here. To answer your question here, yes I'm going to be shooting some color neg next week. I can't wait to see how the color turns out! :) Thanks for watching the short.
  9. Ian, I found one on Ebay right now.K 100 Looks in really good condition. But you might have already have found that. Just thought I'd pass it along if you hadn't. :)
  10. No...I think this is a keeper. Thanks Thomas for the kind words. Yeah I remember shooting my first Super 8 when I was about 8-9 years old. That was neat to see, but then I got use to the Super 8 feel and look. I still love Super 8 and still shoot with it though. So I was totally blown away by 16mm! It has alot to offer and I'm just getting started. Oh I can not even imagie shooting 35mm and seeing it projected....it must be great! One of these days....;) Thanks for watching.
  11. I enjoyed it and I applad you for shooting it on film. :) It look really nice. You had some really good shots in there. I also agree that your film shows promise and I would like to see more of your work. Nice short and thanks for sharing it with us. ;) Good luck in the future.
  12. Rob, That's all the sites I've found as well. Maybe someone on this board has one and can scan it for you. Somebody will be along to help you soon I know. ;) Pretty good deal! See you never know what your going to find at those estate or garage sales. Got to always have your eyes on the lookout.
  13. Hey guys, I just wanted to share with all of you exciting news! No I didn't win a million dollars, so get that out of your head. BUT I have shot my first roll of 16mm film, gotten it back and it's turned out BETTER than I EVER would have thought!!!! IT's AWESOME!!! It's Black and White and these were just tests to see if my Bell and Howell I got off Ebay(for 10 bucks!) would take good pictures. I got it processed at Pac Lab in New York,NY. WOW...the camera not only takes good pictures, it takes SUPER CLEAN CRISP images! Rock steady picture all the way! I wish you all were here to see it projected. REMEMBER this is only a TEST FILM and was shot only as a TEST FILM.That's all this is. This was just to see if the camera even worked! We desided to shoot a short scene for the test. The file size is about 15mb, as I tried to make it look as clear as possible. The transfer I did to get it to the computer is "crude" and doesn't do the film justice at all. It was done by me. But I just wanted to share it with you all to show you how film can look in motion and how good film can look! I'm amazed at this stock! Nothing compares to having this run threw the projector and seeing it on a 6ft screen. It's SO AWESOME! Thanks to this board as I learned so much and gotten help from lots of people here. The film wouldn't have turned out as good if it wasn't for you all. This makes me never want to shoot DV again! You'll find that this is in the vein of silent comedies of the 1910's-20's. Have fun with it! http://www.zenweasel.com/ifilm/16mmtest.mov Cohen"The 16mm Kid"
  14. Hey Jay and Charile, I won a 240 off Ebay a few months back. I've gotten some film for it now and am ready to shoot. But the one thing that is stopping me is the battery issue. I haven't look at all for any ref sheets to the battery but I'm sure something's out there. Thanks Charlie for all the info, it's going to help me out as well! :D Jay, my manual nob works good to set it manually. Maybe you could just oil it and work it out yourself. :)
  15. Karl, yeah if you be willing to mail me a couple that'd be great. I just wrote you a PM. Thanks guys for all the tips! I got the Tri-X loaded and already have started shooting with it. Thanks again for the help. ;)
  16. Thanks guys for the help! :D I thought it would be ok, but wanted to check with the higher ups. ;) I'm looking into getting a changing bag. And I have been practicing loading the camera with some exposed film. Another quick question while we're at it...is there a company that sells daylight spools? Or can you get these from Kodak? Just wondering. :)
  17. Hey guys, Forgive me for not knowing... Just got a 100ft spool of the new Tri-X Black and White film from Kodak. Can I load this in the light(subdue lighting)? Was just wondering. Thanks guys...
  18. FilmGuard all the way baby! To remove scratchs and to help keep the film lubed. Best thing out there. ;)
  19. Ohhh it's for microfilm. :P Thanks for pointing that out to me John. :)
  20. Looking for alittle help here. I was looking in a photography encyclopedia and ran across some home processing tips and tricks. They listed some equiment that you could get for doing this and making it easier. I started looking up some of the name brands they gave on Google.(Havn't checked Ebay yet.) One was a table-top processor. Anyone ever use one of these? I came to an interesting site. It looks like a company in the UK still makes these. Here is the link... http://www.microfilm.com/php/display.php?ItemID=70 Would this table top processor process 16mm B&W reversal films? I don't even want to touch color or negative. To me it looks like it would, if you had the right chemicals and setting. But I thought I'd ask you guys as there is far more knowledge here than in my tiny head. :P Thanks in advance guys for your help.
  21. zaefod, where did you read the news from? It would be great to have another Super8 stock choice! :D
  22. Was just wondering if you'll get the list done before New Years? Would love to get a few rolls for the new year. Just checking up with you again Christian.
