  1. Thanks for the tip, but I would assume titles take away from the visuals in my opinion.
  2. Just be honest and upfront. Who cares if you might be obnoxious. Most people are very approachable that I have found, and the few who do find you bothersome will still ultimately know your name. Embarassment doesnt kill, poverty does.
  3. Any feedback appreciated. http://12gaugefilms.com/12GF_demoreel.html
  4. Please take a look at my new site in particular my demo reel. Give it a second, it will load - be patient. Looking for any constructive feedback. http://12gaugefilms.com/12GF_Home.html Thanks,
  5. Wait, do you have to have the rights to music for demo reels? I have seen tons with popular music on them, and there's no way everyone has the rights cleared..
  6. You spelled Halloween wrong on your site..
  7. Anyone want to meet for beers in Austin? Got a film in competition this year (1 of 8) and trying to spread the word. "The Overbrook Brothers" World Premiere is 4:15PM Sunday, March 15th. If any of you guys use Facebook, here's our fan page for details: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/T...56042443?ref=nf Here's the Web page: http://www.theoverbrookbrothers.com/ A trailer should be up very soon, hopefully by Monday. If any one is going to be in town, send me a message. Hope to see you guys at the premiere!
  8. AHA! So Shane WAS twidlling with a light then wasnt he! This all makes sense now!
  9. Yeah if thats the case, mix and make it work. Re-shoot any close-ups or dialogue you can cheat away from main action, I dont think the audience will notice if you can hide the new material within the old footage. Sounds like enough action is going on to hide the image differences. As for the difference in styles, sounds like the plan was set before you guys arrived anyways...
  10. Why are they so determined to re-use that footage? Have they given you an explanation as to why?
  11. Whats really scary is you can hear Bale aggressively moving towards Shane as if he's ready for a physical confrontation.
  12. uhhh. me slow in brain how you play?
  13. Right, so until something has been overwritten on the disc, it still remains in some form. Gotcha.
  14. I will be very curious to see if the video can be recovered intact. Keep us posted, especially for myself who works with P2 footage frequently..also, just a quick note, if you have a 100GB drive filled with video, format it, now have 100GB of free space, where does the video go? Is it hidden until overwritten? Is that how the recovery is possible?
  15. dude, this has been covered below a TON. look for it under "Christian Bale as Bill Oreilly" 86 comments and counting.
  16. Yeah, thats true with usual files, but the drive has been formatted. I have used Prosoft products before, but not to recover raw video, only word docs and the like. and its not always in great condition even when recovering a simple word doc. The drive was formatted. How can the contents still remain in their original form? Sure you can see what used to exist on the drive, but for video, I am thinking this guys boned. You can send it to a data recovery company, but it will cost some coin, and there's no garauntee of the integrity of the video.
  17. It must be. Saving humanity from robots can be stressful at times, and making movies about saving humanity from mean robots doubly so!
  18. Makes me feel better about the time Micheal Beihn called our entire crew "interns".
  19. I do storyboard work for myself. Never been paid for it, now looking to hire someone to do it instead. Which is why I was asking, so I have an idea what rates are normal. I dont know the rates, which is the point of this question. How was that cryptic?
  20. Why do you refer to the photog as a "wacko"?
  21. No kidding. I actually am an artist myself so hopefully that will help speed things along. Like I said previously, I usually board things myself, and they are very detailed with lighting and shading but no color. I sometimes animate them as well if for a music vid or a specific sequence that needs timing, I just have never actually paid for them which is where the question comes from. On this project I wont have the time to personally draw them myself, so those rates help me get a general ballpark of what I am looking at. Thanks for the advice.
  22. Curious what the going rates are for storyboard artists? Do they charge per cell, by the hour, or flat rate per project? Want to have a little knowledge before contacting artists directly. I am about to start looking around for artists to sketch some ideas for a promo vid for a pitch. I usually do them myself so am ignorant of rates/etc. Any info would be helpful.
  23. Frailty has some great night cheats if thats what you're going after. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0264616/
