  1. hi, in that car scene i think it was almost all one shot. If you check out the "behind the scenes" stuff, you will see that they made this car with a camera rig on the top. When the camera moved around, the seats inside the car moved too. Its really cool stuff. this video shows some stuff on how they did it cheers
  2. However I have my reservations about computers.
  3. Shoot it in two passes and comp it together. i agree 2 passes would be there best bet. Much easier to shoot it twice, then have to build a set with 2 sides. They also have a nice line down the mirror, so they have a good guide as the where to spit the frame.
  4. The Mill has an office in LA now too. They do good work.
  5. thats fine mate, i totally agree with you on the technology side of things. All i suggested was that the flickering movement of the images, could have been due to the equipment. I am sure we have all had problems with our equipment at some stage. "this is a forum for professional cinematographers. Stephen" and no im not a professional cinematographer, but have been working in film and television for the last 6 years. Im just trying to learn a little from other "industry" professionals, as im sure most people are.
  6. So again, be careful to make generalizations about the past. . . Sorry if i offended you, i didn't mean any disrespect towards 40's equipment. It was just an opinion, and im sorry for having one. I thought this was a forum? maybe im mistaken.
  7. in the first shot of that video, you can see the buildings jumping around aswell. It could be due to the film bouncing around and not being perfectly even for each capture. Prob because its made on 1940's equipment. So i would think that if the film is bouncing around the exposure could be slightly different? I think when you see it in Strickly ballroom its obviously intentional, to give it that old home movie feel. my two cents.
  8. some articles for you to read. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08020/850523-28.stm http://www.macworld.com/article/50627/2006/05/pornhd.html http://www.attentionmax.com/blog/2006/05/p...ationsagain.php there are plenty of sources to back up my comments. You may not like it, but the Porno industry is a big player in technology.
  9. the porn industry has had a huge impact in technology over the years. Look at the internet, they are one of the major players in getting faster speeds and video streaming. I wouldn't really like to see a porno shot on Red, but if it helps the industry then so be it.

  11. hi, you should always do some sort of color correction. I took the liberty of doing some adjustments to your image. I have no idea what kind of style your going for, so this is just a simple grade. Depending on what your trying to achieve in this shot, you could brighten the gun mans eyes, or highlight the gun more. I think its best to try and get what you can on the day, and then clean it up in post. Don't ever be afraid of doing "post" work, its one of the most important aspects of film making......as far as im concerned :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/38283616@N00/2752399937/ good luck
