Hi All, I have for sale my personal use Cooke 5i Prime lens set. Included are 18, 25, 32, 40, 50, 65, 75, 100mm lenses. 2x 4-way flight cases and a 1x 3-way case are included. My personal set for 4 years, VERY rarely dry hired (maybe 20 days total). All in excellent condition. £135,000 GBP, plus VAT if UK based, available mid November, after my next series. FAKE! Phil do not buy this.... Those are photos I took of my own zoom taken in my house from when I sold the lens about 6 months ago. Cheeky **(obscenity removed)**ers! They even copied what I wrote on my auction! On the other hand, amazing zoom. Beautiful look, soft and warm. Seemed like a good idea to get rid of it at the time but now I regret it. Oh well. Hi All, Looking at buying a zoom lens and I'd like to open the floor to a mini debate about what I should go for. The choice is a Optimo 24-290 vs Alura 45-250 AND LWZ 15.5-45. The 24-290 is an amazing lens but how long has it actually been around for? I don't remember it not being around in my 6 years of professional shooting. It feels like it's very much in need of an overhaul, coverage and sharpness could be improved. Also going for the LWZ and Alura means I'd have 2 lenses instead of 1. It's the ubiquitous nature of the 24-290 which makes me err towards one, as a lot of income will come from dry hires; is this the safest bet? I've used the 24-290 enough times to know it and feel comfortable using it but I've not had any experience with the LWZ or Alura. Anyone got any big opinions? Ben

I missed out on all the fun! Yes footage looks soft. That is because it's on youtube and out of focus. Wide open the lens is a little mushy, but so are most other lenses especially fast lenses older than 10 years! You want uber-sharp go buy yourself a hawk. Can you grab me a couple while you're at it? The 'flare test' was just to show you what the flares looked like. The flare-y/stretched bokeh look of these lenses is why most people, including myself, are interested in them. You want the aspect ratio? You can crop! Yes it is expensive compared to some front of the lens adaptors or whatever for a 5D but compared to the going rate on simlar lenses it's a good price. Anyways... Just wanted to say hello! :)

Thanks Hunter, Yup; it's a lovely lens. It'll be a shame to see it go. Price has been dropped a little. But I won't lower it any more than that!
