  1. i think what they did in the past looked bad but, obviously we'll rehearse and wont make it look cheesy and such in the end, what ever looks good.. thanks man
  2. sounds good guys, will do some tests the dp specifically said he didnt want to use dimmers and flags because they were convinced that it would look cheesy, but i mean, if it works, it works. thanks again
  3. the only problem with that thread is they're talking about a $450 flicker box i was wondering if there was anything cheap one could buy or make
  4. fire flicker and basically random flickering of 2-4 lights. its for a stylized film so it doesnt need to be motivated. even 1 or 2 lights flickering would be great.
  5. i was wondering if anyone knew how to build or where to buy a cheap flicker effect gag/rig
  6. since you are shooting b&w you can also do day for night which is basically shooting towards the evening where you have sunlight and underexposing watch some of kurosawa's work
  7. china balls dont produce very much heat you can put 50-500w bulbs get different sizes also and make sure you have proper inputs for the bulbs
  8. if it was me, i would shoot the 5205/7205. as for rating, it really depends on the look you are trying to go for. personally, i like overexposing negative film 1/3-1stop. if you have access to lights, then you can easily color correct your tungsten lamps with CTB, and obviously HMI's are already daylight balanced. if for some reason you cant get daylight stocks and you can only get tungsten, just gel your windows with CTO hope that helps
