  1. First off, let me just say you are so lucky, and I'm jealous. Second, you just have to input your appropriate information (lens; distance). Without looking at one, I do remember most calculations are based on .001. Then input your lens and distance of target. All of your variables should line up when looking at your chart, then follow the near and far limits on the wheel. Good Luck! -Blake
  2. The best thing IMO is to practice the move with your operator, and tape out marks on the lens. Your operator should be understanding of the need to focus...but this is no easy task for either of you. Good Luck. -Blake
  3. it is the cinetape, or the panatape. Assistants do use laser guided finders like a hilti, however a quick check with the cinetape is usually better because you can leave it on the camera while shooting [a moving target] which is obviously more helpful to a focus puller than pulling out their hilti mid-focus-pull. it is possible to change the strength and range of the cinetapes, but an assistants most reliable tool is always the tape measure--don't forget it. the cinetape is a benefit but not a necessity. -Blake
