  3. I have no idea where that film is now i cant even remember what it was called sorry .
  4. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was shot on 16mm Ektachrome Commercial 7252 film with a speed of 25 ASA . HMI's were not around in 1974 ,so it would have been Brute Arcs.
  5. Most B/W movies of the 20s/30s were low contrast . I shot a 16mm film about 30 years ago set in that era . It was a studio shoot i had the top of the set covered with a huge parachute which i punched a large amount of light through , from the floor again lots of soft light bounced and diffused the stock was 125 iso . No diffusion on lens . It looked fantastic.
  6. Ok i take this is straight from the camera ? I have never used a BMPCC , to me its flat boring and needs lighting . I am sure once it goes through a DI it will look better .
  7. At that distance and shooting with a Alexa i dont think you would need something as powerful as a Xenon maybe a Source 4 or something in that line .
  8. Is it 16mm or 35mm ? It must have something on it to indicate what model it is .
  9. Thanks for that John . Stephen Murphy a friend is using you at the moment for a short he is now DPing . Best of luck for your great lab.
  10. I love what Freddie Young did in both Lawrence and Zhivago . The sad thing nowadays you are not allowed the hours to light close ups with such detail . Lawrence was shot over two years waiting for the correct light and shooting in 65mm if you have that luxury i would expect stunning images .
  11. Ok but i maybe wrong think I-Dailies are about to or have already started to . As in rush printing , not release prints .
  12. Deluxe Denham stopped processing along time ago Technicolor did their neg processing until they stopped last year. I-Dailies do Deluxe processing.
  13. I think it could be something to do with printing ,control strip to vary amount of light on scene to scene .
  14. Take 2 in London have 2 perf Aaton Penelope Camera/s
  15. Watching Star Wars on the opening night at The Dominion Tottenham Court Road in 70 mm was a very exciting experience , just like 2001 in Cinerama on opening night when i was about 16/17 .
  16. For me its 5230 pulled 1 normal exposure B series no flash .
  17. Just spend as much time as you can using the wheels so that you dont have to think if you are turning the correct way , belive me it takes time to feel confident using a Geared Head .
  18. As Adrian said a O'Connor will work well with a Panaflex Gold.
  19. You have said you are shooting 35mm but not what camera you are shooting with ? If its a big old Mitchell yes then you will need a Geared Head . I am sure its not something like that so i would go with a good fluid head.
  20. Yes Stuart is correct it takes a long time to be able use a Geared Head .
  21. Kieran i did know what it meant .Its just that i dont think it applies to "Prisoners".
