  3. great thank you, ill deff try those methods, i have a variety of different lights which i can use so i just experiment with those.
  4. dulling is not an option, were talking here about a glass window 10 meters x 6 meters or so. also, the aquarium is open so the light coming in and shining through the class in the viewing room is daylight, so i would be best of with daylight balanced soft lights ? oh i just saw for some reason im not in the lighting forum, sorry for that, maybe one of the admins can change that ?
  5. hi, this is a problem that came up for me because i want to do a themed photo shoot in front of a huge aquarium at seaworld, basically a model standing infront of a huge aquarium that fills out the whole frame background, my question is now, what would be the best way to light that person without loosing any detail of the aquarium and the fish in it ?
  6. thanks for that, i was looking at litepanels.com as well, very interesting system but unfortunately rather expensive :/

  10. hi guys, i have to send my showreel to a company in around two weeks, so far i have a few really nice shots on my reel, but the reel is very short. so i was thinking, since i still have 2 400" rolls vision 2 500t in my fridge to rent out an arri sr2 from my school and set up a few shots to "blow up" my reel a bit. has anyone done that before and maybe has some tipps for me ?
  11. not at the moment but i shot quitea lot of stuff with the dvx and i have to say its my favorite mini dv camera. the lens handling is a bit unfortunate but i really like the colour settings and the cine mode.
  12. thank you everyone, i check out the links and then order a cheap one.

  15. cool thanks guys, thats interesting to know, yeah im not a particular fan of the james ryan style but i was interested in the less motion blurr/sharpness aspect.
  16. ah ok, so would it be possible to get a sharper and crisper image with a different shutter angle ? and how does that change my exposure for example lets say i change my angle to 90 degrees, how do i determine exposure then ?
  17. Hi everyone, i started of shooting with an arri sr2 and recently shot my first shortfilm with an aaton xtr super 16 (seeeexy camera;), this is the first camera i worked with that had the option of varying the shutterspeed, i know this is a bit embarassing to ask in my position, but what are the reasons to have a different shutter angle than the standar 180 or 172 degrees ? thanks for your help
  18. its not so much the affordable option, sorry if i expressed myself wrong i just wanted to know if there are other options then a hazer, thanks for the answers so far, i experiment around with them a bit.

  20. hi, i just wanted to get some opinions about smoke diffusion and what you use to achieve it ? i want to create some light shafts in the background of a room that come through a window. what to use if a smoking machine or a hazer isnt affordable or can be used ? i tryed smoke in a can but that stuff last approx. 3 seconds :)
