  1. What kind of lights are you trying to connect? Where would you be using them?
  2. Hi Sanjay,

    I'm sorry I have to say I didn't.

  3. I'm assuming this is PAL because it's 25 fps and I don't know if iMovie works with PAL.
  4. I'm completely just guessing but that entire sequence looked a little CGI to me.
  5. Cineman, Please change your screenname to your real name. Rules of the forum. Thanks
  6. It looks beautiful. What did you shoot on?
  7. I'm not sure how many "good" (without a ton of pixel shifting) HD cameras you're gonna find from 1000 to 1500. If you mean f-stop by aperture control, then (and I'll say now that these are over $1500 by alot) the HVX-200 starts at f/1.6 and has focal lengths from 4.2-55 mm. I think it has some up-rezzing through. The HMC-40 is $2000 with focal lengths of 4-48 mm but its only f/1.8-2.8 according to B and H. I've only shot with the 200 and we had this ridiculous wide angle lens on and ended up with a ton of chromatic abberation but from what I hear it's a great camera.
  8. Chromatic abberation is when different wavelengths of light are focused at different points because of the different wavelengths at which light travels, resulting in the final image looking as though there are replica images of a slightly different color around it. Normally its caused by different wavelengths of light passing through the lens but I was wondering if having prisms out of alignment could also do it.
  9. Some NLE's have a blur filter they might be applying it and then the time lapse to the next clip and then make quick dissolves between the two. That would be good for the Vimeo video. For the Youtube video looks like they're doing a "Dip to Color" fade.
  10. Alright thanks I'll keep it in mind.
  11. Thanks. I've been hearing about jello problems on the XL-H1 too.
  12. Anyone know if the 3CCD's for the AG-HPX300 are true 1920 by 1080? And does anyone have any personal reviews on it? Thanks, Aaron
  13. Looked beautiful. What was your lighting? Was it just practicals in the cieling?
  14. Thanks Adrian. Just wondering I was shooting some stuff on the HVX a week or two ago and I noticed a ton of chromatic abberation that was probably from the new wide angle lens this guy had just bought but I was wondering if you'd had any trouble with that and if it was a prism alignment problem? Can the prisms slip out of alightment and create chromatic abberation like that?
  15. I think I get your first statement now too.
  16. Thanks guys. Adrian I understand your second example. For the first example, are you saying that it's sort of a way of breaking down a stop into smaller pieces? So its half way between 2.8 and 4? Remind me to go memorize the f stop scale. My mom would never want me to say this but im a minor (out of respect for her I'm not gonna say my actual age, though I trust you guys) who does event camera work but I love doing fiction stuff and my goal is to be DP so let's see how this turns out. Thanks again guys.
  17. Sorry yeah I just made up two F numbers because I was was just trying to find out what the split meant. How do you calculate that to be an F4? So it refers to increments between stops? Thanks

    F-stop split

Hi all, What does it mean when you have, say a f/2.8-5.6 split? I came across it in another forum and I'd never heard of it. Thanks, Aaron
  19. I'm glad, though I realized I screwed up on the 60 fps, it's really 60i.
  20. Depends on what your shooting, but I would go with something at 1280 x 720 at least at this point, like the HVX-200, which can also reach 1080.
  21. Thanks Mr. Mullen. I can't believe you answered a post from little old me. I'm honored.
  22. Thanks. How does the V1U record 24p footage within the 1080i signal? Does it deinterlace in the camera?
