does anyone have a source for a REASONABLY Priced Follow-Focus/Mattebox? After hunting, and price comparison, I was shellshocked. My God! You could almost buy another camera for what they want!

Egad!!! After comparing prices for all the different manufacturers.... can you say RAPE!?!? Holy cow! You could almost buy another camera for the prices they are charging!

VERY Nice. I have a FX1 and am wondering why the 35mm adapter? Also, do you know of any follow-focus adapters for that camera that aren't ridiculously priced?

I think it was totally great! I can't really find anything to complain about, it was very well done.

I have a Century Optics lens, and I love it very much. You get what you pay for. WIsh it wasnt so expensive... But, some advice, DONT buy the lenses that are being sold on ebay, they are absolute JUNK.

Hi! So, other than film, and maybe setting moods. or for "effect" what is the importance or purpose of artificial lighting? I mean why not just use natural light for a natural look? I notice I'll see something in production with huge-ass lights, and then the final product looks like natural light! What the heck??

The shots look absolutely AWESOME!! However, the WIG on that guy looks like an animal crawled up on his head and died! (sorry, I hope it was done on purpose)

Awesome! If I may, when someone posts a video, Please also provide a direct link to the Actual video file, either in the post, or on the page. Especially with quicktime, nothing is more aggravating than watching a tiny embedded video. Then I have to look at the sourcecode for the page, find the actual link to the video, and manually download it so I can resize the darn thing! But you did an awesome job with the movie!

Hmm.. I have Not had that problem, Bet it's the tapes though for sure. especially since both cams are doing it. You try another brand of tape yet?

YES I had heard that, and that camera is just a step up from the one I bought supposedly. SO, my question is... HOW did he get the "film look" using a HD camera? VIdeo just looks like video to me no matter what I do. I have softened it a little and that does help, but what am I missing? THanks!

I have invested in the sony HDR-FX1, have really gotten into the film making mood, and have some other small mini DV cams, and thought a quality camera with more control and features would help me. I can't really put my finger on exactly WHAT makes "film" look like film... but what can I do to get close to those results? The thing is, I know a lot of productions are using HD now, and the results look more like a "movie" than a hard "video" look. How is this done? Video seems "hard edged" to me as opposed to film, what am I missing? What processing can i do in FCP HD to get that film look? Thanks!
